Anthony Davis to Lakers?

Jimmy, Harden multiple times, AD, KD off the top of my head.

Phoenix’s GM called me asking if I would take Beal. He said, “Mama, this will be good for you, you haven’t been screwed in years.”

That man has some nerve.

Miami's contracts are lining up for a huge pivot. I wouldn't have been one bit surprised had Butler opted in this next summer, Miami sending him (quite possibly Rozier and Robinson also) out as a huge expiring contract. If Miami extended Butler they'd miss their chance to make this huge pivot for a few more years.

Yes, that is why I said earlier that Butler if he opts in is a bigger trade assest next season. Because of the opt out, now his contract is a bad trading asset.

Right, they've aligned everything well for 2026, even 2025 if they want to trade for the player with expiring's, this isn't just becoming a plan, they're a smart organization, they have a rough outline of multiple ways they can go in the future, maybe one of those 2026 FAs will get moved before hitting FA and Miami has the means of sending out 45 mil in expiring contracts with just Rozier and Robinson. Butler's contract was an issue and honestly, I can't blame them for the pivot, I can blame them for not going all in but this was the pivot they've probably had circled for a few years now.

That is shocking. But as is the story with much else in the NBA--hit your damn 3s and everything comes up rosy.

Why is Phoenix ready to pay Butler?

Kendrick Perkins on the Road Trippin' podcast said KD wants Butler and KD is only under contract for one more year so he's flexing some of his power to try get the franchise to go get Butler. He did this in Brooklyn to get Kyrie and eventually Harden and now he's trying to do it in Phoenix.

What I read is if Suns get Butler it will also help to get Durant to extend.
