Game 36: Bucks at Magic - 1/10/25 - 6:00 - FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Jan 9, 2025 1:18 pm

Bucks head on the road for 2 games and hope to keep the momentum going.

Magic have been decimated by injuries but have played well and are 1.5 games up on the Bucks.

Banchero is expected to return tonight against Minnesota or tomorrow night against the Bucks.

Let's keep it going.

As always please keep the discussion on the game itself and use the team thread for all trade discussion.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Important for the standings and consistency. Move the ball, defend as a team, W.

Must win. Schedule loss. Would be nice if the bucks decide to try this game. Get closer to the 4 seed.

Got a magic trick for the Wagner bros.

Mo Wagner is out, so no one to beef with here. I'll be delighted if the real Bucks show up and play, but I absolutely am expecting sleep walking performance art.

He's not playing tonight? I still see him listed as questionable. I figured if he plays tonight he won't play tomorrow night.

as for the Bucks, the initial injury report has Giannis, Dame, Middleton all probable.

This could be a real pube-esque letdown game after the last two. We are yet to tap into any kind of consistency. It's what happens when you have to rely so much on outside shooting as part of your game plan. It's even happening to Boston this year. When they lose it's because they can't hit the side of a barn from outside. They don't seem to have a plan B this year either.

Just 1 of 82, but would be nice to even up with them in the standings if they happen to lose tonight. Probably not a ton of difference between the 3/4/5/6 but would much rather start climbing the ladder now and get the 3 to play Indy instead of Orlando (and also have some buffer in case Giannis or Dame has a multi-week injury).

Magic only 5-5 over the past 10 after a 17-11 start.

They've only fallen off with all of their best players getting injured. I suspect they'd be comfortably clear of the Knicks in third otherwise.

I'd say the 3-seed is still achievable, but that's the absolute ceiling for this team and probably requires a major shakeup trade still. Knicks have largely padded their net-rating against bad teams and have the toughest remaining schedule (.533 SOS) by a pretty big margin.

I don't see why this should be a letdown game. It's not a back-to-back, they're one of the teams you're competing w/ for seeding, & Banchero returns so they have some starpower. No reason for the Bucks not to be up for this one & the Knicks.

I'm expecting a 1-1 road trip, then 3-1 back at home, to put back a little separation from .500.

Paolo is another 1 that Giannis should want to pulverize just like he did Wemby. Look here young boy, you’re gonna be the man someday but that day ain’t today. Let’s **** go.
