This would be slightly amusing if they tie the game here.

What a mess at the end. 2 fouls for no reason. Steph in for defense to end the game. Bigs didnt sell out for the perimeter, stayed inside
Just baffling stuff

This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Re: Dubs at Pistons
a W is a W especially considering the last 2 (disgusting) home games and that tomorrow there is a back to back in IND, but this team is going nowhere. too much mess in general, the talent is what it is but the CS is doing a poor job regardless of it.

Speaking of baffling:
Schroder with Curry: -9
Schroder without Curry: +16
the evidence continues to pile up... keep them separated. I think the only way this happens is if Schroder and Hield switch jerseys, see if Kerr notices

Mark barrel stein must have a lot of pull because we are bending over backwards to make Schroeder play a ton of minutes regardless of outcome.

Never thought I'd say it -- thank goodness for Santos and Waters on 3's. Hield too. Nobody else could throw it in the ocean. One of Steph's worst shooting nights ever... and TJD had a solid night at 14/10 with a +16. This team needs a major trade. They are a .500 team otherwise.

Or prioritize fit. An upgrade in talent won't do much of they can't fit with steph and dray.
We saw it this game without schroeder on the floor. With steph, dray, and heild, the ball was moving and getting good looks. The team looks better. Now add another guy in wiggins that fits that play style. All the numbers support it. Kerr wont try it now to placate schroeder. Any trade, and I bet kerr placates the new addition. Going further and further away from what works.

jokes apart, kerr could have just put santos at the 3 this whole season instead of throwing in a bunch of nonsensical midget lineups. The key here seems to be proper positional size, something santos provided tonight. it can be really this simple.

You’re being generous.
Although I don’t think a major trade makes them a contender but would get them to .500

at this point, if the GM got some balls, they would trade schroder as soon as it becomes possible to send a message to kerr ("enough with this crap") and to save the team from this non-sense.
it's not schroder's fault, he could actually do good for this team if used properly, but if no other option left because of the HC dullness, then he should be sent somewhere else for the team sake.

Re: Dubs at Pistons
question 1: When was the last time a .500 team made a trade and became a contender?
question 2: When was the last 10 times a .500 team made a trade and became doomed to seasons of mediocrity or worse?

from chatgpt:
Question 1: When was the last time a .500 team made a trade and became a contender?
One notable example is the 2007-2008 Los Angeles Lakers. At the time of acquiring Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies in February 2008, the Lakers were performing well but were not considered top-tier contenders. Gasol's addition transformed the team, leading them to the NBA Finals that season and securing championships in 2009 and 2010.

Question 2: When were the last 10 times a .500 team made a trade and became doomed to seasons of mediocrity or worse?
While specific instances of .500 teams making trades that led to prolonged mediocrity are less documented, several midseason trades have been criticized for not yielding the desired outcomes. Here are some notable examples:
Brooklyn Nets (2023-2024 Season): The Nets traded key players, including Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, leading to a rebuild. Two years later, they held the seventh-worst record in the NBA, indicating a decline from their previous contender status.
NEW YORK POST
Chicago Bulls (Post-1998): After trading key players like Scottie Pippen and letting others walk, the Bulls entered a prolonged period of struggle, failing to make the playoffs for several seasons.
WIKIPEDIA
Atlanta Hawks (2023-2024 Season): Despite making roster changes, the Hawks maintained a .500 record over a significant period, exemplifying mediocrity without significant improvement.
