If there were any question marks about the champs this season, it’s looking like they’ve certainly been answered.

I don’t think the Spurs have taken a single step back. If anything, it’s more of a case of a chosen few teams just got better, in an attempt to close the gap.

Both of your squads have complete separation from the rest of the pack in the West. If what we’ve seen thus far holds true for the duration of the season, it’s gonna be an epic playoff battle.

But one can never rule out veteran champ NewEra and his Warriors. I’m sure he’s turning over every leaf to have something to say about it being a 2-horse race out West.

And can’t forget another former champ in Deeeez’s Mavs, who’ve been red hot and making a real push since his trade.

Denver been doing well too, but I want to see if they’re for real. Or if they’re a classic case of being a regular season team.

It certainly was an interesting offseason. I was curious to see what the team would look like without the Jokic/Curry combo. I couldn't replace his scoring with a singular player but I thought I could put together some interesting lineups that play off Jokic well. On top of that I thought I could seriously improve my defense with the move as well and it seems to have paid off.

The real test will be the post season. As you stated I feel there are a lot of strong teams and Curry was good for a couple of those enfuego performances so we will see how things shake out. But the team is playing well.

Out East, Charlotte and Brooklyn haven’t been as dominant As I expected. Both went down again tonight.

Meanwhile Boston opens the Booker era with a quality win. Miami has been better than expected as well. Keeping an eye on what their GM Fat does next, as we know he’s never one to be gun shy with pulling the trigger on trades.

Detroit has clearly stood out as the class of the Eastern Conference.

I put my Toronto Raptors in a tier below, although I’m encouraged with how we’ve opened the season considering I expected to be the East’s 4th best team (behind Detroit, Brooklyn, and Charlotte).

I think the third tier group of teams are all very close in talent and performance, so keeping an eye on who makes moves or sees chemistry gains during trade season out of Brooklyn, Charlotte, Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, and Boston.

My squad hasn’t played in a couple days now, so I got bored and figured I’d drop some commentary.

We started the season with a massive losing streak, 0-7 or something like that. We quickly turned it around when I switched to post focus and have been 21-7 or something like that since. And now we improved from Beal to Booker, with more moves potentially on the way. I think I'll continue getting better.

That being said I definitely don't feel great about my chances up against Detroit or you. I agree that we are in the mix with Brooklyn, Charlotte, etc. as you mentioned. I've got the feeling a lot will change next week.

I think seeding is going to play a massive role on the East playoff situation. Barring injury Detroit is the heavy favorite to make the finals but I wouldn't be shocked by any of the teams you mentioned (including your own) being in or missing the ECF. Homecourt advantage is going to play a big role in who makes a run. And who knows, maybe one of us gets lucky against Detroit...

You had an adage to sell up Thybulle that I think was very true. The SIM sees all star lineups as redundant. It prefers some balance.

Sim Mo Bamba with 16 rebounds last night against Chicago. Any contenders with rebounding weaknesses needing cheap depth. He can be had for a 2026 or 2027 2nd round pick.
