I don’t see how anyone can look over his tenure since getting Jimmy and say he did a great job and did the most he could to win us a championship, that is just insane fuxking delusion and no it has nothing to do with Bam stop being idiots you little culture vultures.

Fk Jimmy. He ain't never won chit before us, with us, and he sure as hell ain't winning chit after us. He can EAD as far as I'm concerned.

And thats completely fine for you to feel that way, that’s how I am for the most part. If you aren’t with us you’re against us but it’s still ok to admit that Pat has done a bad job overall with this build, it doesn’t ruin his legacy it’s just not his time any more

There's a lot of NBA teams that wish a 'bad job overall' meant a couple finals appearances and one shot short of a 3rd. We weren't going to win chit even if he got Dame, just like he won't in Milwaukee. Dude is a loser.

I disagree but there were also several other moves, we were like 1-2 pieces away for 3-4 years and did nothing. We made it where we did mainly on the elite impact of Jimmy and Bam with elite coaching and game planning from Spo

Jimmy coming across like a clown with this social media staged bullchit.

He took the heat to the finals, I'll never forget the joy the bubble run provided being locked up at home. I wish he just said "I want to be paid, if you don't want to pay me trade me" I think most heat fans would be supportive of that

Tim_Hardawayy wrote:Why are the Heat penalized for overachieving? This board is so dumb with regards to the last few years, instead of celebrating the fact they fast tracked the rebuild timeline (or skipped it really) and were close to a couple championships, they lament over the fact that they didn't win those championships when they were never supposed to be there in the first place. Also, no credit is given to finding players that fit into the cap (ie undrafted) that bolstered those teams, only bitching about not trading for disgruntled stars even when there are times the league literally steps in to prevent it from happening (Dame).

Actually let me take that back, its not really this board, most of the bitching comes from player first fans with zero loyalty to any team who view everything as transactional. Whores will be whores.

Oof hard facts here.

Gimmie Zion

Ideally tho, would need to also acquire another starting caliber 3D wing to offset his and Bam’s inability to shoot.

A front court of Jaquez, Zion n Bam would be a traffic jam

I am in agreement on Zion. Been saying he needed Riley/Spo/UD to keep his fat ass in check since his rookie year. Heat Zion would be a BEAST.

You're just trying to kill me, aren't you?

I'm not sure of the dollar amount, but I believe you're right about him being extension eligible.

This whole run with Butler basically everyone outside of the Heat said the roster was weak (and it was) and instead of doing what Riley used to do, send out picks to get more proven players, he decided to draft 4 straight years while this team needed to strengthen the roster while making the ECF 3 out of 5 years. The only strengthening of the roster happened with low cost (in assets) vets who were nearly done in the NBA. They went to the Finals in 2020 and the very next season they open the season with Mo Harkless as their starting PF and it wasn't because of injuries.

Or, just maybe he's the same, but the environments keep changing. The chef can cook still but the health department n cooking laws keep changing. Now w aprons. Drafting is more essential today than ever. I give the management credit for finding good players at least when they used to never care about the draft

My only counterpoint is the one I've made each year, when you're close to a championship you go for it. You usually need an MVP level talent to have a shot but luckily for Miami Butler's game is/was well suited for the playoffs where when healthy he can play like an MVP. If you're not going to go for it when you're that close, what real chance do you have at a championship unless you somehow get lucky to draft an MVP level talent in the middle of the first round? Wade's been the only MVP level player this franchise has drafted.

We were really not. Amazing couple runs. But we weren't really true contenders.
But we did try to get bigger whales n failed.
Some stars want different teams. Happens. You can't always get what u want.
But if you try sometime, u get what u need. Lol.
Most champions get breaks. You should be happy to get the chance n we got two. Not bad

Not sure I don’t lurk/post enough anymore, but it was bad during the LeBron years as well. Even Shaq fans to a lesser degree.

It’s just funny to me because the narrative is always “youre only good because of x player”, and yet the Heat were good before that player and after in almost every case. The only common denominator is Riley, and if you’re a Dolphins or Marlins fan you should know what a huge difference good ownership and management can make vs bad.

So many people here are eager to run Riley and even Spo out of town, its so incredibly shortsighted. Its like they want the Heat to become the Hawks or the Hornets or something, which they were on track to becoming pre Riley. So many don’t even know about the Zo/Timmy years, or dismiss them because no championship.

Haha did fan boy really just give that reply! Lying ass twit

For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?
