Re: Zion Hornets... (I need help to complete the trade)
Miles makes sense for the Pistons who are geared to win a playoff spot.
I'd rather keep Miles plus the 2 lightly-protected firsts.
I'd consider Miles for Isaiah Stewart and Sasser.

It's not bad, but I love our top 2 scoring options as is, and want to reserve the 2 firsts for a more stable 3rd option over a volatile 1st option. Only one ball. I like LaMelo 1, Miller 2, X 3. For now X is Miles.

Cooper Flagg complements the perfect team or Edgecombe (below) at least on paper, so the answer is probably through the Draft... (but given that we are in a transaction forum and I am really interested in your opinion especially (or that of anyone who wants to participate) what commercial objectives do you like for Charlotte...?

Yeah, the draft is the other issue with paying big for a lead guy when we already have LaMelo and Miller. Add in Flagg or Harper or Jakucionis and the need to surrender lightly-protected 1sts for someone to get touches ahead of those 3 goes way down.
I like the modified version of Zion to the Hawks with the Hornets dealing Salaun plus 2027 Mavs plus Richards for Deandre Hunter & Nance Jr.

Re: Zion Hornets... (I need help to complete the trade)
The Pistons don't need another athletic wing who can't shoot. He's talented, but he isn't a fit and the thought of him on the team still makes me a little nauseous.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Re: Zion Hornets... (I need help to complete the trade)
The Hornets are currently 8-27. Under no circumstances should they trade future first round picks this season in an effort to get marginally better - especially for a player like Zion who is a huge injury risk.
If they get value for Miles they like (I'm skeptical), then sure pull the trigger. Otherwise, wait until this summer to start pushing chips onto the table.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Re: Zion Hornets... (I need help to complete the trade)
3-team deal with Charlotte - New Orleans - Toronto
Charlotte in: Zion Williamson, Kelly Olynyk, Garrett Temple, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl
Charlottte out: Miles Bridges, Mark Williams, Vasilijie Micic, Cody Martin, 2025 NOP 2nd, Better of 2027 MIA or DAL 1st
Hornets add Zion to their core alongside LaMelo and Miller.
New Orleans in: Mark Williams, Bruce Brown, Cody Martin, 2025 NOP 2nd, Better of 2027 MIA or DAL 1st
New Orleans out: Zion Williamson, Daniel Theis, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl
Brown is expiring, Martin in non-guranteed so there's cap savings there. And then they add another young center to go with Missi and cover what has been their biggest positional weakness depth wise.
Toronto in: Miles Bridges, Daniel Theis, and Vasilijie Micic
Toronto out: Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, and Garret Temple
Toronto adds a wing scorer in Bridges locked in for 3 years and some expiring deals.

Re: Zion Hornets... (I need help to complete the trade)
Toronto should not be adding another mediocre offensive player making that kind of money for that many years. Their roster is already clogged with these guys.

Josh Green, Cody Martin, Vasa Miccic and T. Salaun, plus 1 first for Zion and what ever scrubs they want to throw in for roster spot purposes
