I hate Jeff for trying to keep hope alive.

He avoided 50, but then again the same percentage of sacks he took that were his own fault was likely the same percentage of the 50 that he exposed himself to which were his own fault for exposing himself to.

We can miss on Ben Johnson and still get a great coach maybe even one better than Ben Johnson who I’ll admit looks tasty but you never know.

No, you never do know. Last year everyone wanted Bobby Slowik. This year, not a peep about him.

Ben Johnson might prefer living in LV to Chicago- it might come down to something as simple as that.

IMO, The Bears best odds at success is to use their first and second round picks on IOL and pass rusher. Then use compensatory or third rounders on lottery picks like Anthony Belton for LT. Spending earlier picks on undersized guys to fill LT to replace Jones is forced. Don’t force it. Not unless you’re drafting for guard. There aren’t great enough prospects in this draft to force the pure LT draft early. Poles should instead concentrate on being solid from guard to guard in order to make a big enough leap forward this year.

Ben Johnson’s decision between Bears and Raiders:

Raiders offer - Better ownership, Tom Brady. More money. New Stadium. Ben Johnson gets his own GM/personnel guy

Bears offer - Caleb Williams

If Tom Brady can present a plausible quarterback path, the Raiders job is more attractive than the Bears job by a good margin. If Ben has a very high opinion of Caleb, that’s another thing. But it all comes down to Caleb keeping BJ out of Las Vegas. :dontknow:

The Pats are out for Johnson?

If Johnson is high on Caleb, I think we'll nab him.

I am bit bummed the Bears didn't bring him in for an "in person" interview being that he was eligible to do so before the end of the season.

If Rivera is interviewing in person, it feels like Vrabel was never high on their list. Same for Carroll. J
ohnson or bust it is.

OR

The Bears are catching flack for not bringing people in, and they have decided to change course.

No. Hell no. No more defensive minded HCs. As a DC maybe. But I want an offensive mind as a HC. The offense has been crap for far too long. A better offense would make the defense that much better by keeping them off the field longer. Time of Possession kills our defense, they get worn down by the 3 and outs.
Why? The head coach more than likely won't be calling plays. I want him to manage the team and coaches. I want my OC calling plays. I want my DC calling plays.

I feel like Vrabel was basically a done deal with the Patriots, and the teams know it. But want rondo their due diligence because you should. He has too much connection to them and they fired the old coach for him.

PIT always seemed more pretender than contender this year. I wonder if Justin will get some play in the 4th Q?

Poles should be on the phone with the steelers right now offering two 2nds for Tomlin.

the question is, who is the OC? Klint Kubiak?

Nah, I'd like someone a little fresher. His teams are consistent, but rarely super bowl caliber.
