Lawson is on a 2 way contract. Just bring him up and send Walter down. AJ is what....24-25 years old? At 20 years old, Walter could get more use out of thos reps.

I like what they did with the 10 day contract for EO. It allows them to give a lot more minutes to Mogbo without causing too much friction with upper tier 905 guys like Eugene.

I think Eugene is a good 3+D guy, a diamond in the rough.

Why not sending Walter down to 905 as well? How has Mogbo been doing in the last few 905 games?

Even with Shead playing well lately, I really want him and Walter in the G League getting max reps/minutes. They can all comeback after the trade deadline. It should be a win/win for our current vets to increase their value and help the growth of our youth.

Mogbo is just getting his feet wet. It looks like he is getting more comfortable with his teammates, but not much has changed with him. I think he needs to continue to get pushed out of his comfort zone. Something that will only happen if he stays down there.

I think he's on the "Gradey-905 plan" that's not to dominate the ball handling, or take 25+ shots when you see fit.

Which is to go down to the 905, and still play the same role (but with more mintues) you were on the Raptors, but take a few more shots if it seems to be in the flow.
You might get more attention from the opponent, making things harder.

When you come back to the Raptors, you're in a better rhythm, and with better players, which should make things easier on you.

It's a good method.

Walter makes sense. He's played like 50 games that weren't exclusively against teenagers in his entire life, and he doesn't touch the ball much here. Him getting G League reps makes sense. Maybe better off playing NBA defence for 15 minutes a night, but we also suck on defence, I'm not sure he's learning good habits or a system we'll be using long-term or a ton other positives.

Shead should just be our backup PG. He has the ball in his hands a fair bit, he's older, played 4 years of high level basketball on the most intense team in college basketball, lots of big tournament games. He didn't really develop a ton in terms of becoming more efficient throughout college on O. Either he's gonna thrive with his strength and speed in the extra space in the NBA, or he's gonna be a 3rd PG/5th guard type bouncing around the league. Might as well find out. I don't think Davion Mitchell is raising his trade value in the next few weeks, unless he shows off an entirely new jumpshot. Teams know what he can do on D (be good) and on O (be bad).
Where's the D?

While I agree, we have nothing to lose from letting Davion play. He seems like a great teammate who's just happy being part of the squad so we either get a 2nd round pick or he stays apart of the team and Shead takes over after the deadline. I just thought Shead could gain from becoming a better shooter/playmaker in the G League but the guys already doing that with the big club.

Announcer said he was "ruining every attack" by the Celtics at one point, that's nice to hear. Couple good blocks on the video. No idea if he'll ever have an offensive game, but I dunno it looks pretty promising considering he turned 19 like a week ago. He's got slightly above average center length, seems pretty strong for his age, moves okay. I'm cautiously optimistic we have something real here on defence. No idea if he can be a lob threat on O, though you would think so with the blocks and offensive rebounds looking good. Hard to predict if a guy can get open or not.

He needs a PG that can lob pass like Scottie and Shead. He had an offensive when Jamal Shead was sent to G League.

Chomche has more personal fouls than made field goals. Keep him in the G, please.

Has Eugene Omoruyi even been with the Raptors at all?

It seems like they paid him off to keep him happy while Mogbo takes his starting role and minutes.

The game I went to, Omoruyi came off the bench & looked kind of pissed when he came into the game (this was just before the 10 day was given). He was bodying guys on the floor in garbage time.

I am hoping the Raptors can bring him up & give him some.minutes.

Chomche should see some actual burn with us when our schedule becomes the easiest in the league after the deadline. Perfect opportunity for him. At least for a bit.

We loved Bismack. I think his floor is Bismack. Remember, Ulrich just turned 19 on December 30.

They've been operating with a clear plan for him, from her moment he was drafted (They probably had a deal in place with Minnesota to buy that pick if he was available). They signed him to a rare two-year, two-way deal, again, that looked like part of a plan. So they ought to stick with the plan, because the 905 have more days off between games when he can work on specific things like footwork that he needs to excel at a higher level. I'd assume that this coming summer, he's going to get more intensive work, and that will include more work on offence.

So, I think it best they stick with the plan. He should remain with the 905 until its season is over, and then maybe get a few minutes in NBA games in late March and early April. The fact is, the 905 look pretty good, and playing with a team that is winning a bit more is not a bad thing for him.

Chomche & Mogbo could be an extremely scary defensive tandem down low by the time the GLeague playoffs start.

Then you throw Shead & Walter in the backcourt & Lawson at the 3.

Potential GLeague All-Defensive starting lineup.

Could you imagine having to try to score against that group?

PG: Shead
SG: Walter
SF: Lawson
PF: Mogbo
C: Chomche

Pretty much everyone on the floor could be a legit POA defender.
