At that stage, we will remain a play in team except if we trade Randle for a good player who can get the ball at clutch time, not TO it and score. ANT hero ball works only 50% of the time....but we are a 50% winning team, quite matching

Was funny game to watch. Nobody play real defense, TO the ball a lot ( 10 for our star ANT AND Randle...)... We stay in the game all night because we shoot very well (except ANT). The only reason why we did not lose by 15 is because Ja have a bad night matching wit ANT

Not sure why Randle was trying to iso against JJJ down the stretch.
Why do we continue to run no action on offense in crunch time?
Rudy getting dominated on the boards all night. Smh.

Hero ball works a lot less than 50%. If I had to guess maybe 33.3%. When Ant plays in the clutch we lose more often than not.

Re: 38: Grizzlies at Wolves, 7 pm
I think the rotations at the end were bad. Rudy was doing well getting second chance opportunities and even inside points, Randle subs in and turnover the ball right away. That was the beginning of the same meltdown I have seen all season.
Went to Edwards at the end too many times. He just needs to accept when he is cold from 3, drive, or pass it. I'd give that to Naz or DDV for that final shot tonight.
It's was a good first 42 minutes of the game for the Wolves. Poor rotations and plays run for the wrong players at the end.

What really sticks in my craw is that we lost so many easy ones that we need games like this. We need the home games against banged up teams, and against good teams. This one was right there. We played so badly in certain phases of the game, but it was right there for us. If we cannot grab those games, I don’t see us going anywhere. Just dropping Randle and adding a mid level guy isn’t enough. We need a coach with an offense who knows how to handle end of game. We keep blowing games and before long we will be the cautionary tale about the wasted year.

Re: 38: Grizzlies at Wolves, 7 pm
What a shame.
Best game for Dante in a Wolves uniform.
Maybe best overall game I've ever seen from Jaden McDaniels.
Great game from Naz Reid off the bench.
And just an utterly inexcusable trash performance by Anthony Edwards.
Ive lost track of the number of times this year where he or Julius had a path the the basket with about a 70% chance of making a layup or drawing a foul and just blatantly threw it away to the other team. It's headscratching.
And brutal costly turnovers and nonexistant rebounding or help defense from Julius Randle.
21 offensive rebounds for Memphis and only 2 defensive rebounds for Rudy Gobert, granted he wasn't getting any help at all from Julius.
2 huge clutch free throw misses at the end.
The 3 guys making the big bucks need to do some soul searching and start playing with some damn composure and fundamentals because the role players handed them this game on a silver platter tonight and they just took a big dump on it.
We aren't going to be good enough to even sniff the playoffs until Ant starts taking care of the damn ball and stops trying to go 1 on 3 all the damn time.
Absurdly avoidable loss tonight.
But at least it was fun to watch unlike that 2 team stinker against the Pelicans.
Anthony Edwards has been terrible all year outside of good 3 point shooting.
The rest of his game is mediocre to outright bad.

Between turnovers and offensive rebounds the Grizzlies had a 19 possession advantage.
You lose probably 95 times out of 100 with that.
Imagine starting the game and giving the other team 19 shots before you take your first one.

Agree. MIN allowed 21 offensive rebounds.

Finch and his horrible coaching , play calling and lineups in the clutch have cost this team over a dozen winnable games this season already. He has to go, he is beyond mediocre!! Naz on the bench when wolves need to score to end lol

These are not talent issues at this stage … these are coaching acceptance issues. It’s a world of the willing and able … these professional players are able, but unwilling to do the work and have the discipline .. a lack of will for the players and a lack of accountability for the front office. Who does finch think he is… Biden?

Please don't inject political bias into this. We may end up as the third team in Canada or move the team to Greenland.

Basically the same for me. I had a little more of a 761012 feel.

Finch at post game ITW say both team play well. 18TO, 23 more FGA for the Grizz, no defense, destroy at offensive board but we play well...... did not see exactly the same game. We shoot well ( Except ANT), which keep us in the game but the rest....

Re: 38: Grizzlies at Wolves, 7 pm
The only thing I don’t see discussed is how the Grizzlies were literally face guarding Ant even if he didn’t cross half court. A lot of the reason for the great ball movement and open space is because they were literally playing 4-4 or 4-3. This is insane.
I have been looking but can’t find where you can find data on which players get double teamed the most. I would have to imagine outside of bigs who are easier to double team ant is the highest

Lets be honest here, a rookie 2nd round pick named Jaylen Wells completely ate Ant's lunch.
No more excuses.
Someone needs to put out a highlight reel for Ant of just how hard Michael Jordan worked off the ball.
Jordan got 5X the attention Ant does and played in an era where the rule were heavily slanted towards defense compared to today and didn't have multiple 3 point shooters spacing the floor for him at all times.
Something's not right mentally with all of the super sloppy carelessly fumbling the ball away and throwing the ball right to the other team. Fundamentals are just terrible. Is not even keeping his head up and eyes peeled half the time when he's attacking.
Looks to me like a player who is becoming immune to coaching if he's not there already and has completely lost track of many key fundamentals.

All others teams know well already that putting hard defense on Randle and ANT will give you a lot of TO and opportunities for fast break points.
