Dude helped carry us through December. Things are still brand new. Get back to me next year at some point when we see how things fit. There's a lot of games left.

He honestly didn't play reckless like so many do when their shot is struggling. Played good defense and facilitated. I think his shot will return with a little rest

There's a balance that needs to be perfected. When Brunson/KAT are off we need him to be able to step up and deliver. When he's not needed, use that energy to do the other things you mention. That goes for Hart and OG.

This game we got 74 points from those two alone. Oh yeah, we also won by 36.

he has to stop the maddness of that crazy super quick release... we need him to hit open shots not to rush shots

we have a lot of spacing and playmaking guys that can create a lot of open shots... and Thibs has to play him no more than 36 mins at most, ideally 32 mins... let him be super fit on both ends

I agree. We matched up really well against them. They had no answer for anything.

we suffer only against teams that shoot many threes including their bigs and/or against teams that defend with a zone

You cant beat a zone with Thibs shooting the least amount of threes and with his dead legs starters who cant neither hit a shot nor cut or penetrate to the basket... Also you need to run more through KAT to beat a zone... he is an excellent passer on those cross pass/cuts that needs to be ran to break a zone D

We suffer against long athletic switchable teams. OKC, HOU, ect.

It takes everything we want to do offensively away. We really don't have a counter unless Mikal is a
Taking advantage of his mismatch.

Also MIL doesn't have a lot of guys that can create off the dribble and it doesn't take advantage of the fact we don't switch enough.

KAT switched onto Lillard a few times and did a good job. We really should switch way more than we do. If we give up a post up against Mikal to Portis like we did so be it. At least you aren't giving up open 3's

IDGAF who you put around that trio. You're getting a ring.

Agree... but with the TRIO... people around here treat Towns like he is Trevis Knight

Good bounce back win
-We lucky to have Brunson
-Its looking like Mikal is a super streaky shooter
-OG may have been playing tentative after that hard fall a couple games ago
-Thibs survives getting arrested and fired for one more game!

I'll say one thing that's different this year.

Past years, we knew we weren't top tier. Even when we were a playoff team, we know we weren't one of the top 4 teams in the league. It wasn't even a conversation.

OK, when we got OG and went on that 18-3 run or whatever it was and I-Hart was playing well . . . maybe we thought we were top 4 before the injuries.

This year, say what you will, but fans are mad that we're not top 4. That doesn't happen unless we're close. Top tier is within our grasp. People are finding flaws. They found flaws in 93 when we won 60 games but lost to the unbeataBULLS. They found flaws when we made it to the finals in 1994. We've never been the best, well, not since Walt Frazier was running the show. But this is as close as we've been in a long time. Maybe we're closer now than we were in those peak Ewing years, 93 and 94 or 99 when the East was kind of weak and the best teams we had to get past were the Heat and Pacers.

Thibs needs to put Bridges on the ball more, Brunson less. Not because Brunson isn't good, but because that seems to loosen up Bridges and it gives the offense different looks.

Even when the Knicks won in 69 and 73, it took Russel retiring and Knicks weren't favored over the Lakers in either season. Bucks were really good too (73).

Even in the "heyday" they were never considered top 2, possibly not considered top 3.

Missed the game but looking at the box score it looks like Brunson had a great game as did KAT.

Oh wow did we actually get some bench production too? You mean it’s possible that a bench player can score almost 20 points off the bench without needing to play 30 minutes? No way that’s crazy. Good job Cam Payne

This is a good win. The bucks have been really good lately and have some quality wins. Def a few scary minutes when Brunson left the game but he came back looking great. Very weird about Mikal not shooting but I thought he defense was pretty good. 17 shots for 22 points is meh but most of that happened in the first quarter. when you combine that with 6 turnovers, it’s a good defensive night. Same with OG on Giannis. You can’t really slow him down but I’ll take 24 points in 21 shots any day of the week. Towns awesome. Pretty much everyone was on a reasonable minutes load and hopefully should have good energy for tmrw night against the pistons.

Knicks were on a mission after that stinker on Friday. Any team next was gonna get it. I still don't get why thibs had to run Bridges, Hart, and Kat into the ground

This was the first game in a long while where I felt the refs were on our side...
We need to play a good game against a team that plays good defense.

Just love how this board's abusive ex-boyfriend was a -19 in 19 minutes of action. worst of all the bench players.

Watched the highlights..

Still not a fan of the offense... one pass and the guy who "decides" to score basically go iso and the other 4 guys just watch, still too much dribbling... it's not a team offense but a "your turn, my turn" offense at a very high level that duped us into thinking it's a team offense. Usually only the passer and 1-2 other guys who wants to get the ball move, the other 2-3 teammates stand and watch.

I think this offense is going to continually get exposed by the real contenders: Thunder, Celtics, Cavs.

Enough being ecstatic after wins against the mid or bottom feeding teams. I want us to beat the top teams, 0-5 vs Thunder, Rockets, Celtics, Cavs (top 2 teams of each conference).

Return to New York Knicks
