Celts Bounce Back, Defeat Massive Human And His Gaggle Of Terrifying Water Birds! Victory Cigar vs NOP 1/12

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Mon Jan 13, 2025 1:29 am

Holy hell you guys that was way too stressful but we survived and won the big game hooray!

Jayson! KP and Jaylen! Payton and Al and Luke and other Celtics!

Celts remain in a major shooting funk as a team, but overcame it with aggressive Jays getting into the paint and making things happen, and a more active team effort on the boards and on defense, though we still made mistakes on that end. And the final few minutes featured all kinds of insanity lmao.

Phew! Tough game, hard-fought win, I'll take it!

Couple days off. Raps Wednesday, Go C's!

That was a deeply disturbing win.

What an odd game. Ball fumbling and unforced errors, shots not falling. This looks like an unfocused (unmotivated?) team right now.

Cavaliers lost at home. That somehow feels more satisfying than this half-assed win by the C's. I'll take it.

If you weren't here for this all-time Classic, I don't know what to tell you. Meanwhile I am just over-flowing with Confidence and Celtic Pride right now.

White losing the ball out of bounds for NO REASON sums up this game.

Cavs lose yet another game in double digits??

Can't imagine my team losing more than one double-digit game. Not even halfway through the season. Tsk.

Really disappointing we can't protect home court decisively this year

Almost a disaster in the end - Tatum missing two icing threes and a missed timeout, ugly. Wins a win I guess but they need to figure out this shooting. This is a bad team we played and part of our rep last year was demolishing bad teams as great teams do

Playing like a school yard basketball team and still on top of the division.

I don't know how to interpret that.

Sloppy Final Minute. Tatum carried the team. Al Horford and Kornet were very good in their minutes. So was Hauser. Porzingis made a lot of panick moves but managed to put together a decent game despite missing 12 shots, some of them lame. Celtics were lucky to pull this one out because New Orleans shot 46% from 3 with only 9 Turnovers. That turnover by White with less than 3 to go could have been a crusher but Zion Williamson threw a pass to the front row a few plays later.

An alternative perspective:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+30.5 Jayson Tatum 36 minutes

+17.5 Kristaps Porzingis 34 minutes
+16 Al Horford 23 minutes
+14 Jaylen Brown 38 minutes
+11 Luke Kornet 14 minutes

+9.5 Jrue Holiday 32 minutes
+7.5 Payton Pritchard 24 minutes
+6 Derrick White 30 minutes
+4 Sam Hauser 9 minutes

Team Total = 116

If that gritty win doesn't convince you these boys got championship DNA, I dunno what will.

Gross asf man.

I understand the shots are not falling, but wtf is actually happening? White fumbling balls out of bounce, guys missing lay ups and dunks, Jaylen looks like he has never made a 3pt shot in his life..Hauser barely used it seems like. Jrue pops his little head out like 3 times a game and you don’t even realize he’s out there the rest of the way.

Absolute mess of a team.
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!

This is on the players.

KP missing an alley-oop.

Luke missing a lob dunk.

And White just losing the ball out of bounds for no reason.

Those 3 are perfect examples on how to describe how bad the Celtics are playing right now.
