So let me understand in the last few years when thibs had a bench of IQ, divo, deuce, hart, ihart he didn’t use them? See how stupid this sounds? When thibs has good enough players and depth he plays his bench.

Four of those 5 were also starters much of their time (IQ when JB was injured).

And yet they weren’t they all played significant minutes off the bench in fact IQ should have won 6th man award. Again your narrative is wrong, if thibs had quality players off the bench he’d use them, in fact knicks bench has often been there strength. However what Leon and co decided was they gave up depth to create a more talented starting 5 leaving less talent on the bench. Not thibs fault. Again it’s stupid to say if thibs had bench depth he wouldn’t utilize it

They got 3 more months to figure out the way they can hang with the elites of the league.

This is pretty much where I'm at. I cant wait to play Boston again.

This has been where I have been since the summer. This team is two pieces away from being able to complete with the top teams in the league - a guy who can light it up off the bench and a durable rim protector.

Really need another guy who can score off the bounce at a high level.

The experiential learning that Thibs had tonight might be the key to everything. Our bench didn’t get slaughtered in garbage time!

Still not a fan of the offense... one pass and the guy who "decides" to score basically go iso and the other 4 guys just watch, still too much dribbling... it's not a team offense but a "your turn, my turn" offense at a very high level that duped us into thinking it's a team offense. Usually only the passer and 1-2 other guys who wants to get the ball move, the other 2-3 teammates stand and watch.

I think this offense is going to continually get exposed by the real contenders: Thunder, Celtics, Cavs.

Enough being ecstatic after wins against the mid or bottom feeding teams. I want us to beat the top teams, 0-5 vs Thunder, Rockets, Celtics, Cavs (top 2 teams of each conference).

Nothing better paints the picture of Thibs than the game post OG trade when we played 6 guys, including Charlie Brown, and we still got only like 10 mins of Jacob Toppin.

Basically to get into his rotation, you have to Linsanity your way in. noD'Antoni and Thibs are two sides of the same coin to some extent.

can't wait to follow him on the former-knicks thread. We should trade him to the Pels so he can pretend to be a healthy Zion.

Kid is so strong and athletic, and was hitting 3's in the summer like Mitch and all the other snipers.

last season deuce had 13 DNP and avg'd 4.2 mpg before the IQ trade. donte, hart, ihart were all underutilized until injuries and trades made them all near permanent starters

across 3 franchises thibs teams are consistently bottom 3 in bench mpg and bench production. his strategy is to ride his "best" players til the wheels fall off.

Great win, but unless we beat the 73-9 Warriors in a 7 game series in back to back years, I'm not impressed.

Always good to win one against an above average team. We don't have many of those wins yet this year.

So far, we've beaten:

- Bucks
- Wolves
- Nuggets
- Spurs

I think that shows right about where we are as a team.

We aren't the Celtics, Cavs, or Thunder, but we are we are right behind them. Hopefully with Mitch and one more bench piece, we can get in the mix.

Only Knick fans could believe the season is over, so much will change by playoff time. Mitch and 1 move for a bench guy and you are out of your mind if you think anyone will want to play the Knicks in a 7 game series.

the bucks suck so happy we blew them out like we should. it would be nice if mikal looked for his shot more especially in the mid range. did he take a single mid range fade this game? he had plenty open and decided to swing out for a 3 that wasn't open

so many other teams have some random bum on the bench they'll test the waters with each game to see if he's on and can knock down a few 3's that night. matt ryan could be that for us. 3 mins a quarter with some of the starters, see if he hits a few, extend his minutes appropriately based on the competition

cavs game tonight was funny. close game, definitely winnable for either side. both coaches intent on keeping starters at around 30 mins for the night. no need to stress out and play guys 43 mins for a meaningless game

Maybe at this stage of his career Giannis takes a backseat to a star player if he wants to win another ring.
