With how this team shoots is it shocking? I always ask my self do they double Paolo because he is just that good? Or is it because the Magic can’t shoot and Paolo is the only real scoring option?

Paolo with a TS% of 77.9% tonight. Wow. Up to 61.7% for the season. Dude is really looking like an all-nba player. Not going to make it due to the injury but the progression looks to be ROY, All-Star, and All-NBA caliber in years 1, 2, and 3.

This is precisely why I've been so unconcerned about all the complaints about needing a point guard or the lack of ball movement or the offense in general being bad.

If you have a 30+ USG% player who can have a TS% of 60+ (not saying Paolo will stay at that level) - your offense will be good enough regardless of how it looks.

KCP is going to start to get the catch and shoot 3s he is best at.

Even with your little disclaimer, it's still massively unrealistic based on 6 games and Paolo's first 2 seasons. But keep living in Homerland.

I just don't really get this mentality.

Young players don't improve?

NGL... PBs dribble pull up fills me with as much confidence as watching Tmac did it before.

Meaning i more than expect it to go down.

Yeah, I don’t understand this post. Unless you don’t think he will improve, why is a TS% of .60 not attainable? Most of the best players in the league started their careers with TS% in the .50s just to get it to the .60s in a couple seasons. Why would that not be the case for Paolo as well? Guys like Paolo do improve.

Hell, Lebron had a TS% of .488 in this first year. By your logic he should have never touched .60. Most young guys are just inefficient when they start.

Next year guys like Harris needs to go. If he can stay healthy, then he’s a solid vet to have but dude gets random injuries and out for weeks.

da SIlva is sick.

Bitadze left the game what seemed as a back injury, but what was diagnosed as a hip bruise. He might be out a game or two if it stiffens up, but should be just fine.

Box score thoughts:

Orlando win the FG% battle and won the game.
That's really qyite amazing given how many three pointers Orlando missed. THree was 23 misses and a 23.3% make rate. Yuck.
Orlando shot 64% from 2. WOW!

Given how poorly the Magic shot FTs (67.9%) and how wonderful the Sixers shot theirs (95.5%), the deciding stat in this game was FTAs. The Magic shot 8 more FGs (and had more FTAs, so there was actually about 10 extra possessions for Oralndo).

How? It wasn't TO-differential (a zero-push). It was rebounding.

The single stat that won this game is thus rebounding differential. Orlando was plus-12 rebounding. Plus-9 on offense and plus-3 on defense.

p.s. the Magic dominated on blocks differential and thus handily won the STOCKS race. Plus-5.

Orlando needed a home win. Isaac's five offensive rebounds and 20 points was the major reason this is a win.
