Hal and Cashman against the Dodgers if you had to keep a record of it has to be something like 0-25 losing each game by 10 runs.

Owners do see this about Hal putting a cap on what a star should get on the open market and exploit Hal it will continue.

The gross thing is that Hal had everyone brainwashed about how he had to pick between Soto or a well-rounded team. No, you biatch Hal, you could have done both. You didn't learn shyt about getting embarrassed by the Dodgers last season...that World Series beatdown started from their ownership, bled into their FO strategy and then manifested itself on the field.

Part of me wants MLB to set up a legit salary cap so that Hal will stop embarrassing us every offseason

Not sure Arraez is the right move. Slow, bad at defense, no power...kinda just hits singles over and over.

Then again, I'm scared to trade with the Dodgers because their FO just outclasses ours.

Just hoping the Yankees just sign stopgaps without giving up picks.

I'm torn on Arraez. He rarely strikes out and is an on base machine so him hitting in front of Judge would be huge. But he sucks defensively which is where we need help at too and we already got tired of Gleybers lazy defense at 2nd. And ofcourse we're going to have to pay him after this season so he might be a rental too smh idk

When was the last time Cashman saw a position player that really filled a great need and went out and actually acquired him? You'd have to go all the way back to the Benintendi trade and we all know what a disaster that move became. When it comes to addressing a position of need you can either count on Cashman to stand pat by doing nothing or bring in someone who is past their prime.

To be fair, I think Jazz counts. They wanted him, they got him.

All in all, I feel like the Yankees have been bigger disasters when they try to be clever. My biggest worry is that next season, Kyle Tucker and Vlad Guerrero Jr will be on the market, and the Yankees will probably try to trade for some washed-up vet or something like that instead, leading to seven years of failures and trash in that position.

That's why I really don't care about the Yankees crying about how they spend so much money. They went cheap with Stroman to avoid Yamamoto or Snell or someone else, needed to sign Fried this offseason anyway, and now cheap Stroman has turned into an albatross for them at 10 mill less than Fried, and is directly hindering efforts to stay under the arbitrary salary cap Hal imposed to earn profits, I mean build a winning team.

Alex Bregman is going to sign with Boston and become the next JD Martinez for them.

Might be. He might not be the right fit for us, though, and I think Nolan isn't either. That's kind of what happens when the Yankees pass up on good, young, Hall of Fame free agents without pick compensation costs, and then try to go cheap. We spent so much money on guys like Donaldson for no return, and now there's no good option in FA. Now we're hoping DJLM will bounce back, just like we were hoping Rizzo would bounce back. I'm pretty sure we were targeting Adames too, but he got signed away before Soto.

My hope is for one or two more low-cost acquisitions. Kim as an infielder, maybe one more reliever. Of course, I'm being a dumbass and hoping the Yankees will pay up for Tucker or Vlad but that probably won't happen.

Yankees and Mets told Sasaki isn't signing with them. I knew his entire posting has been a sham.

So is every Japanese player going to the Dodgers?

Sasaki’s Criteria for choosing a Team:

Is the team named the LA Dodgers?

Does the team have Shohei Ohtani?

Does the team have Yoshinobu Yamamoto?

Is the team located in a city with a significant Japanese community?

Does the team want to compete every year?

Unfortunately the Yankees meet 0 out of the 5! Dodgers are 5/5

This sh** is so dumb. Japanese players would rather team up with Ohtani, and hide behind his star, than be on the team to take him down and be their own star. LAD just becoming a farm system for Japan.

Nah I don't blame him. You gotta give guys a reason to come. Like, okay, we've dropped the ball with Japanese players ever since Tanaka and Kuroda (which is damn weird, given how cheap as eff we are...), but we can't offer alternative reasons for why we're a better fit.

Are we the best winners? No.
Are we the best spenders? No.
Do we have the best pitcher development? No.

In much of those areas, we're good, but not the best. That's basically where Hal has us right now.
