yeah... pure insanity... we could have afforded last night to have KAT with 0 points and still win the game and people here complaining... is the whole Knicks fandom like this or just this forum?

From my experience it's worse everywhere else. Twitter is insane. FB groups are nuts. I don't do reddit. Look at the GB on this site. I avoid all of those. This place is not as bad as it is elsewhere from my experience.

The fix isnt as big a deal as we think. We dont have a core player talent deficiency. In theory this core is good enough to win a championship with. The Bench depth, an elite rim protector, and better Thibodeau minute distribution is probably the only things that separate us from the top 2-3 teams in the NBA right now.

Not a guarantee this all gets fixed but a healthy Robinson and 1-2 other healthy guy like McBride/Payne getting more minutes could take care of all 3.

This. Healthy Mitch/Deuce and seat warming production from any/all of Payne/Shamet/Precious should make us a tougher team. We need to play out the season healthy and see what we have.

I just watched highlights of Jalen's 17 assist game and it was all passes to cutters, roll men, and shooters. Then some KAT highlights. No entry passes from Brunson but a bunch of passes to KAT as a cutter, roll man, or shooter. He's great when he's in motion or if his target is in motion. But for whatever reason feeding the KAT down low isn't a forte. His post touches are usually fed by Payne or Hart.

GB has a huge big city bias verus the Knicks. Once they couldn't clown us they proceeded to ignore our existence. Ive been temporarily suspended from there because I got into it with Celtics fans and Netfans , and snipe they reported me to the Mods.

So this touches on something I was thinking about earlier while procrastinating at work.

How do I find out how many possessions out of 100 do we see JB/KAT 1-5 PnRs and how effective they are? Because I feel like they don't do it a lot.

I don't think Brunson is comfortable at all throwing in passes into the post.

I would love to see KAT get featured post ups that have someone like Mikal or Josh cutting and catching. I was watching footage of how much damage Jokic and Westbrook are doing from the post with the cut and catch and I see no reason why KAT can't find guys cutting like that.

It's like Brunson doesn't even know Towns is on the court in the 1st quarter.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and blame mechanics.

It seems like feeding the post is not something he's particularly comfortable with. He's good at getting the ball to shooters and cutters but I've also noticed it was Hart that did most of the Mitch lobs as well. For whatever reason he's not programmed to feed a stationary object when he's not in motion.

That’s interesting about JB feeding the post. I’ll have to watch for that. But Brunson isn’t running any PnRs with Towns which should be money.

I am confident this team can finish the season better than last year's mix and match roster. We had FOUR different starting lineups last season and we won 50 games. If Mitch can stay healthy I think we look at 55 wins and the ECF.

tbf, with the expectations of going all in coupled with the lack of success against other contenders its fair for knicks fans to be a tad concerned.

Yeah for sure, that's why I said it's totally understandable...add the huge expectations and it leads to folks getting stressed and anxious.

I think there's always going to be ups and downs during a season so sometimes we've gotta zoom out so to speak and look at the overall picture. This is 26-14 team, won 6 out of the last 10. Some things need to be cleaned up on the floor and on the bench but this is honestly going pretty well especially when you consider that this is technically a totally different team from last year.

And it's only January. All I am worried about is keeping the top 6 guys healthy and hopefully the team overall evolves into a well oiled machine by March.

all reasonable - i also think some men struggle with emotional regulation, too. but i don't know if knicks realgm is the best place to hold that topic.

health right now is my biggest concern. i really don't think thibs is the guy to get us to a chip though I believe this roster is a legit contender. so at this point i'm rooting for me to be wrong(happens a lot) and for no major career injuries.

I'm excited again. Refocused. I'm enjoying the big picture and stepping back from the peaks and valleys. Looking to see if Thibs makes the attempt to incorporate the bench and how much production he can get out of them. We have a 6 game stretch where our A game should be able to win. We need the bench to produce and keep the starting 5 fresh enough for the 4th qtr.
