Because it's hard to play Springer in a 7 or 8 man rotation.. whenever everyone is available he is probably 12 to 14th man?

In one hand I believe it is impossible to evaluate anyone with such little PT. But even with that said, he has never really even shown a hint that he is anything more than a good hustling defender. If this was in the 1990s he would be playing a ton on some team. But in this 3-point, 5 out ERA his lack of an offensive threat doesn't have the same value.

I think that we keep him and sign him to the minimum next year
He already knows the system, young and defends well. Just needs to work on his 3pt shot
Low risk guy
Just like Hauser, but the opposite. Defense is there, needs to add offense.

Joe needs to let the youngins play with the starters some more. Walsh, Peterson, Springer. They are all playable to some extent and maybe they will surprise (like Walsh against IND). This well immensely help their progress, or at least show that they are not part of the future

To be honest all of the choices are in play. Lonnie Walker's name has popped up again. So we could go back to Walker or another player being in and Springer out. One thing we have learned is they are very stealth in what they do.

Almost halfway through the season...

Would've been second to old friend Dwight Powell had they adjusted the requirement to 15+ FTAs or 50+ mins played.

Trade him to Utah with 2 1st round picks for Walker Kessler. Kessler gives you rim protection, can play the pick and roll and rebounds. Between KPs frequent injuries and Horford's age there may not be another path to get a legitimate big man like this
We also cannot ignore that the Celtics have a better record without Porzingis. Last season 43-14 with KP, 21-4 without him. This season 10-7 with him 19-4 without him. I'm not advocating trading Porzingis ....yet. but either way getting a bone fide big man can only help.

That's been the trade talk for about a week or more and I hope it happens. Kessler would be interesting on the Celtics. Danny likes him but is also trying to chase the Flagg this season. So he may unload a talented player or 2 for the chance to draft Flagg.

curious what advanced stats say about Kessler's impact, especially defensively?
I am guilty of almost never watching him play

Trade him for Javonte
Add a 2055 2nd protected top 54
We will have Brown, White & Green - the colors of the Celtics + the Leprechaun

Unless the trade involves Porzingis himself, with the Celtics being a 2nd apron team, I see no real way to have the assets/salary to get a quality center going forward.
Being willing to give 2 late 1sts to Utah may be different than actually doing it. Today Phoenix got Nick Richards from Charlotte for a net of 2 second round picks and Okogie for the salary match. I'm hoping this helps the Celtics to approach bolstering the front court for now and the future.
Out Jaden Springer, Tillman

IN. Kessler/ Lonnie Walker

Looks like it took two 2nds to get rid of him after all, and he’s immediately cut/out of the league
