Re: NBA has to send 4 Cavs to All-Star
Cleveland has been amazing. Best in the NBA. But four is completely unrealistic. Three is do-able, but it'll lead to some great players not making it. As good as Cleveland has been, that's probably fair.

What’s your current top ten ranking?
1. Jokic
2. Shai
3. Giannis
4. Wemby
5. Luka
6. Tatum
7. Mobley
8. J.Williams
Gets murky for the 9th and 10th spots. Any number of offensive guards (Curry, Brunson, Mitchell) or bigs (KD, AD, Towns, Sabonis). I could make a case for any of them.
This list has no embiid.
Please explain.
(I already know why, I just want to hear it for satisfaction related reasons).
I'd probably have Paolo and Franz in the conversation too if they'd played more games. Embiid is just currently banged up and it's uncertain if and when that's going to stop. He still has elite top played potential, I'm just not sure how much of that we'll see this season.

Jalen Williams at number 8? Wow, you are really proud of your son, Mrs Williams!
I don't think it should be controversial. Statistically, he's up there with anybody under the MVP candidates. (14th in EPM amongst healthy players). 2nd option on arguably the league's top team. Defensively he's been insane. I really like 2-way players and J.Dub is simply one of the best of them this season.
That being said, he started the season hot and hasn't quite sustained that rate of play. The next time I update my dumb little list, he might drop down closer to 20.

You don't vote all stars based on teams. Cavs have two players who are all star players, they should get two. You shouldn't reward their 3rd and 4th best players all star nods just because they have a deep bench and good coaching.
No, the logic is the Cavs have 4 players playing at an all star level
That's fine if the case, i have no problem with 10 cavs if all 10 were at all star level, but thread title "NBA has to send 4 cavs to all star" doens't suggest that line of reasoning. A thread saying "Jarett Allen and Mobley are all stars" would be more apt to discuss the topic at hand, but I wager if you frame it like that you'll get way more blowback.
Also I am rooting hard for the cavs to get out of the east this year. Hope they do actually play like 4 all stars.

You can make a case for 3 spots: Mitchell, Garland, and Mobley. If you argue for more than that you're trippin.

Furthermore he doesn't even have 1 million fan votes and he's trailing by 1.1 million fan votes for the 3rd spot.
So the means you believe he will be #1 in front court player voting, which we both know isn't going to happen. Even if it did, it is a weighted score.
The East front court starters are locked in and i hate to break it to ya, a guy who played only 6 games will not be one of them.

Tatum is best player in series but is it crazy to think the Cavs have next 4 best players?
Maybe not crazy, but probably a minority opinion. Boston might have the best 2 players. A Brown/Mitchell poll would be interesting, tbh.
That's been a long running one really. Not to say there's been one right answer, either, prob gone back and forth at various times.

Better at... what?
I think Allen can hang with bigger bodies on defense a little better. Better rebounder. I also think Allen is craftier as a cutter and lob threat.
Everything else is Mobley. He's the better shooter, scorer, driver, perimeter defender, rim protector (yup), playmaker.
I think Jarrett Allen is really really good. All-star calibre player. Mobley is even better though.

Cavs struggle in the play-in without Allen but are like a 5 seed without Mobley. Allen is the reason why the Cavs defense works... Mobley would get exposed, like he has in the past, without him.
Now going forward, I'm taking Mobley for obvious potential purposes.

Paolo has no chance to be in the Top 3 frontcourt players in the East, Giannis, Tatum and KAT have a massive lead over him in the voting.

I think the Cavs starting 15-0 and then snapping the Thunder's 15-0 streak to extend their second streak to 12-0 before dropping one last night... Is different.doogie_hauser wrote:If Boston only got 2 last season, so should the Cavs
Celtics never put more than 5 or 6 wins in a row together last season (before voting concluded).
Not saying i think the Cavs will get 4 all stars but if they don't, the reasoning shouldn't be last season's Celtics.

Aside from Mobley, I don't see who else gets in from the Cavs aside from Spida.
Just my opinion, there is just so much talent in the East, and I am also keen to see more first time players too like Cade Cunningham.
