Ain't no way
It would be only if the Knicks free fall into a play-in seed
We are still the 3rd seed I think there are only 5 teams in the NBA with less losses than the Knicks

I don't see how Thibs survives another 2nd round exit, that would be 3 in a row.
He says the young kids are good, well he should've tested them out in that easy December schedule.
Supposedly we have the most difficult schedule for the rest of the season.

F every one of these multi-millionaires.
I hate being a fan of this team.
Hope This gets fired and never works again and every player blows out a knee and achilles

Assessment really is not fair cuz it has more to do with coaching than individual player accolades.
Brunson can't stay in front of his man and KAT can't protect the rim. Hart isn't always the greatest defender either.
It's basically just OG and Mikal playing 2 on 5 defense. The defense collapses to the middle every time once someone gets beat because otherwise it's an easy layup. KAT doesnt recover quickly enough and sucks at help defense. This in turn leaves the perimeter wide open for threes.
Putting Precious in will bolster help defense. Putting Deuce in will bolster perimeter defense. Thibs won't make the adjustments.
Someone posted here the other day our different lineup efficiencies and our starting 5 wasn't that great but with Deuce or Precious in with either KAT or Brunson sitting was our highest differential.
Coach doesn't have the creativity to come up with any lineup that actually works cuz he only wants to play the starters and never mixes things up.
It's gonna come down to Mitch coming back and playing the 4 next to KAT. If Mitch can give us what he did last season then you will see how valuable "WingStop" can be.
Fire Thibs!

It seems like every roster in the NBA has their own pair of elite wing defenders, even the bad teams
so OG and Mikal are still really good, but they're not really setting themselves apart from the rest of the league other than the minutes they're playing

yeah no way is Thibs getting fired this year. If we flame out quickly in the playoffs his seat might get hot.
but he wont be fired when we have a top 5 record in the NBA. But he should be on thin ice for the future.
He's a regular season warrior and floor raiser. I do not think we will be able to reach our ceiling with him as a head coach.
Our seeding doesn't matter to me as much...our season will be defined by our post season performance and everything Thibs should be doing is maximizing our playoff potential. Not running starters +40 minutes on the 2nd night of a back to back in January. That is pure insanity!

No matter how good OG and Bridges are, they can’t make up for brunson’s and KAT’s defensive deficiencies.

no teams best defensive players play 40 minutes a night. If you were playing OG shorter stints instead of basically entire 1st qtr and 3rd qtr...and then bringing him back quickly in the 4th...you would probably see more production for him.
When OG is right...he is like a free safety on defense...he is crashing on drives with those mean swipes at the ball. He is constantly a menace on defense.
His rebounds are way down this month. His stocks and deflections are way down this month...pretty clearly he is feeling the heavy minutes load.

Re: PG: Knicks Cough It Up For The Pistons
Too many games everything just looks hard while lesser teams make it look easy...to me that's a sign of bad coaching. We should have an identity on offense that can work against the best teams in the league but we don't and so that's extra energy spent that we don't have. We're just really inefficient with our talent.
