Healthy Rotation Discussion
I know it seems like this is never actually going to happen but hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks we are back at full strength.. Speak it into existence. I wanted to see if as a fanbase if we are on the same page (doubt it)
I think we can all agree the SL
Suggs
KCP
Franz
Paolo
Goga
I believe we will run 10 man until the playoffs and even then still might.
AB
?
TDS
JI
WCJ
I think it is clear above those 4 have cemented themselves as our reserves. Who is 10?
Gary - has been out but does fit very well in that lineup. Granted Franz or Paolo will be in it.
Cole - has been up and down but the last few weeks he has really turned it on.
Jett - is ideal for what the team really needs but doesnt seem to be trusted by Mose quite yet and is still targeted on defense.
TQ - dark horse. Love his energy not sure he cracks the line up
Caleb - I have always been unrealistically high on him. Not anymore.

Playoffs you are running 8 to 9 players

Re: Healthy Rotation Discussion
Suggs/KCP/Franz/Paolo/Goga should be the starting lineup when everyone is healthy.
For the regular season, I'd go 10 with Black/Cole/TDS/Isaac/Carter off the bench.
In the postseason, I'd squeeze Cole out and go with 9.

Re: Healthy Rotation Discussion
Barring any trades my question for the playoffs is if you want to take Cole out and then risk letting him get cold and then you need him when everyone else can’t score but he’s been shelved so long he’s mentally out of it.

If Paolo, Franz and Suggs are all healthy, they shouldn't need Cole.

Re: Healthy Rotation Discussion
Only three guys outside of the starting lineup should be safe.
1. Tristan da Silva
2. Anthony Black
3. Moritz Wagner
and in that order....
It really doesnt matter who else fills out the rest of the rotation.
The FO should be gauging players to fit with those 8 players this season/offseason for the start of next season seeing as the starting lineup wont change at all.

Re: Healthy Rotation Discussion
They way Cole has been playing he cant be taken out, we need his points off the bench. Im not convinced this Suggs at PG is the long term move. This only works with healthy Paolo/Franz in the lineup.

I really believe the best version of the Magic is when they have 6th man like Cole off the bench.

TDS, AB, JI, and next season Moe off the bench is going to be solid.

Agreed. Also, as Mos has shown, if its an off-night in the 1st half for any of the 8 except Paolo and Franz, sit their bums and send in TDS/Cole

I think AB might start next year and bench will need a microwave scorer.

8 or 9 is conventional...but this defense is anything but conventional. I don't know that Mose can tighten the rotation and expect the same intensity. And I DO know that ORL doesn't win without the same defensive intensity to keep them in games with superior offensive teams (basically every other playoff team).

He did try to run 8-9 in g1-2 but it was evident that we are better playing 10.

Depending on the matchup, I think you can even swap out WCJ for someone like a Cole Anthony with mojo.
In the playoffs that rotation would likely struggle with playmaking just like last season, but there's time to correct that.

Re: Healthy Rotation Discussion
I think Cole can be effective against some teams. He could look like a star against Philadelphia and look terrible against Boston. It's probably better to keep everyone sharp instead of leaving players out of the rotation like they did Black and Goga the last couple of months of last season.

Said before, and will say again, the Magic need a continuous use of F-Wagner and Banchero in reciprocal PnRs. In the playoffs, that will excel. Heroball (iso play) works with the game on the line. It does not work for the first 47 minutes of a game.
To win, Orlando's playmaking needs to come from its forwards.
