Unreal lmaooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find this surreal and feel like Thibs is just purposefully double downing. I can also hear him say, "You gotta dig, you dig!!"

I just don’t get how our front office can see this and do NOTHING. The league is stats heavy, analytic driven. How can a front office see this and think this is ok, regardless if the president is cool with the coach.

Thibs could play the bench more, but the FO thinned out the bench to assemble this crew, so it's a bit of both.

OG was gotten in a two for one (Ok, Precious, but he's hardly that good), KAT was gotten in a 3 for 1 essentially (not that Bates-Diop is awesome) and then the FO decided to get cute picking a project in Dadiet, and Mitch being perennially hurt means the Knicks are carrying too many C's while they sort it out.

It doesn't change the fact that the starting 5 just isn't that awesome or that Thibs can't adjust to different personnel, but the thin bench doesn't help.

Maybe the FO feels they have a couple of seasons to figure that part out.

That's almost hard to believe. If nothing else tells you who Thibs is that stat surely does. Bad news guys. He ain't changing.

Its hard for me to believe that the FO is just sitting back watching Thibs run this team to the ground. They have given up a lot of assets and worked a lot of magic to construct what they believe is a contender. If these minutes continue we are going to be in the same situation as last year when playoffs come around. We wont have enough healthy bodies to compete. I mean this fact is clear as day and the writing is already on the wall. Unless an ideal replacement becomes available, maybe they just let the rest of the season play out because firing Thibs and promoting Rick Brunson is not the ideal scenario I'm sure the FO wants.

I think Thibs has a long leash. They are shopping Sims, supposedly, so they're probably trying to find someone that fits Thibs' scheme.

maybe if OG and bridges legit were wing stoppers while algo being able to play make on the other end... but they're both limited offensively in the regard and at this point honestly overrated at best on defense.

it's a flawed team with a flawed coach. the window is still at least 3 years (maybe 4 meaning 3 years after this one) - so there is time to make tweaks and improve the roster (and maybe get rid of thibs) - but i went from thinking it was fairly decent odds they would win at least 1 in that window to now it feels like beyond a long shot to even make the finals (unless we get extremely lucky with opposing teams injuries or matchups etc).

it's unfortunate we went all in for this. i feel like our best moment in these next few years is going to be upsetting a favored team like the celtics, cavs etc in an earlier round series and then losing to a beatable team after that.

The Knicks are good enough to win a chip. Adding Mitch will help a ton, if they can add another chipper on the bench with Payne and deuce, they’ll be cookin. The problem is the coach. As long as we dont lose him, we wont go anywhere.

Actually, Brunson gets the ball to KAT plenty and the run a good pick and roll.
i must be watching a different game. does anyone have the stats on how many assisted baskets Kat has made from a brunson pass? feels like he always misses him when he's open for 3 and when he rolls it's more just to collapse the defense for brunson to do his thing or pass to someone else for 3.

the bottom line is brunson's vision and playmaking is mediocre at best. he has gotten better but to me is still essentially an undersized scoring guard that is capable of organizing the team well enough but isn't a plus advantage creator (other than for himself to score)

edit I just checked and KAT has been assisted 69 times by brunson, 2nd most is hart with 57. i think that is telling since hart is rarely even handling the ball. Cam has 27 in probably a tenth of the minutes.

They watched him do it last season, he ran an 8 man rotation despite having 2 guys who were able to fill in during the playoffs. Go look at Burks game log, it was full of DNPs then look at how many minutes Hart was playing in those same games.

Sims is a third string center or not an NBA player. He's not a true rotation player.

This team with iHart next to Towns would be amazing.

The coach starts him over Precious when KAT is out, he may be a 3rd string center but if the goal is to see what KAT looks like at the 4 he could have done it already..

Not when it totally kills the offense. Sims is bottom of the bottom there.

He could have, but at the same time, then he'd have to have Sims over someone like Payne or Shamet who he likes more.

I’d like us to bring Chuma Okeke up on a 10-day contract. Dadiet needs the G League experience.

Thats another fact that his players are dying for a rest :D

Chuma is a two-way with some nice offense and can shoot the 3 ball. Plus, he has NBA experience!

But the point still stands. We not only need to play the bench to rest the starters, we need to develop the young guys with live fire. Huk should be getting 15 minutes per.

Huk, Dadiet and Kolek can each get a situational 5-9 minutes every single game. Thibs is running this team ragged and the proof is their 4th quarter collapses and terrible defense. We've been "healthy" but it seems like we're playing with a massive fire.

Tweet is misleading, yea sure the starters play the most minutes, but what quality in those minutes are they giving you? Or are they burnt out in the end, so they conserve energy to avoid injury

KAT played 42 mins on the tail end of a B2B where he was constantly grabbing his thumb in pain.

There's zero reason for this.

Exactly, they overreact to the post/paint regardless of who the player is, you do not leave a shooter to double on Tobias in the post. The Tom glazers don't believe scheme matters but he broke everything down.

The team is uber talented but there is absolutely no creativity to mix and match lineups up to get the best out of everyone. Thibs is just gonna let this this carriage ride and practically have the wheels fall off until Mitch gets back and then he will sit back and sign another extension saying " I told you so."

I don't even see how Mitch helps the wings minutes, Tom will just remove Precious from the lineup like he did last season when Mitch came back. He could have played 9 guys but went with an 8 man rotation and moth balled Precious. They played 8 when Precious and Burks could have made it a 10 man rotation.

Actually, Mitch probably makes the wing situation worse because it's fairly obvious Thibs will play Mitch in place of Precious.

It's not the worst idea, because although Precious is listed as a 4/5, his skill set is almost entire that of an undersized 5.
I see he gets some minutes with KAT, so he provides some relief at the 3/4 shuffle that Thibs does with Hart/OG and Bridges, but Thibs would just shift that to KAT.

So, if anything, wing minutes stay exactly the same but KAT's minutes go up. Yay. lol.
