When anyone is in Melbourne there is one number one thing they have to do- you have to inspect the quality of renovation work at AussieBuck's house (also please double check everything has the appropriate council approvals, and anything that isn't report immediately).

What sort of stuff are you in to? Nature? Fancy restaurants? Beaches? Beer? Sex dungeons?

Not really into sex dungeons but to each their own. Everything else is good tho

I mean this is far too vague to give you a legitimate answer. How much growth is there? What is the cause of the moisture in the attic? 99.9% of the time mold is a pretty easy fix.

I can't imagine needing to hire a professional remediation service (which is also going to cost you thousands of dollars), the only times you would need to do that would mean that your entire home is in unlivable condition and you cannot even be there.

I manage large rental properties, and I've only ever had to hire a professional for mold remediation 1 single time in the last decade, and that was due to a shower leaking back into the shared wall between 2 apartments for a year and half. But if you're talking some minor mold from a roof leak, or exhaust fans improperly venting into the attic, or just old school insulation that has become saturated with moisture over the years, that's an afternoon project.

Yeah need more information. People see mold and freak out but the reality is most of it can be scrubbed with cleaner, hit with some kilz and new paint and youre good. The bigger question is did you fix the problem that caused the mold.

Appreciate the insight guys. The attic has some insulation gaps that I'll be filling but wanted to get the mold out first. It's not a bad case of black mold. Our inspector noted it when we bought the place about 4-months back and didn't think it was a bad case either, just that we should get it tested. I've done some shopping around and I'm guessing pretty much every hardware store has plenty of sprays. I've also looked into the dry ice spray as an option. Just wondering if there's anything specific to keep in mind for wood surfaces. Some even recommended a white vinegar and water solution being enough for most cases.

Clean it with some mold killing spray, and make sure that **** is bone dry when you fix it up. I wouldnt feel the need to rent a dry ice machine and go that route if its not bad but without seeing it idk how big of a pain scrubbing it off will be, those are nice if its all around the joists and stuff. It will certainly do the job faster and effectively.

Read on Twitter

This is an extremely disturbing read and the descriptions of sexual abuse are about as awful as any I've heard about. Just a heads up in case you read it too.

Vinegar will work sometimes, depending on the surface. Don't dilute it. Use a spray bottle. Leave it on about an hour and scrub it off.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

If you use vinegar, wear a mask and goggles. I had a mold issue in a closet and used it. Those fumes can really burn your throat and eyes.

Read this post on Indignity this weekend: "Cheap Noodles, Explained." then watched the video highlighted:

I picked up a couple of the suggested packages tonight and had one (Shin Black with beef bone broth). I made a marinated pork loin (sous vide, medium rare, seared) and had the ramen with a few thin slices of pork. Absolutely **** delicious. Killed me not to slurp up all the broth but the sodium on all these packages is so astronomical.

Anyone have other noodle recommendations? I might be into this.

Agreed on the sodium being a bit mind blowing with these. Shin is so, so, so good. I use the regular/classic Shin (red) and only add half the packet of soup base and then drop an egg straight in to the pot and let it poach for about 30 seconds then whip it up with chopsticks to break it all up and simmer for another minute or so- super creamy, and the soup base is so remarkably flavoursome that I don't really notice that it's not the whole packet anymore.

I doubt it drops the sodium in half, but I've noticed I'm not dehydrated an hour or so after eating them.

Without trying a whacky hack, and not ramen- but my other favourite instant noodles are Indo-Mie Mee Goreng flavour (2 packets, with a crispy/runny fried egg whacked on top!). Probably about 10 times worse for you, but so, so good.

I'm 100% trying that tomorrow with the egg whisked in. Sounds great.

And funny enough, the last time I was into noodles it was with that same exact Indomie pack. I ordered a bunch online not realizing they were sold in stores and would eat them at work. It's been a few years but I picked up some tonight. You're right, absolutely delicious.

God, those Indomie are so good. You eat them and know you shouldn’t, but so hard not to when you have them around. I use to always have those and Shin in the house, now just have Shin permanently and occasionally on a whine get the Indomie because I know if they were here permanently I’d eat them a couple of times a week.

Really monitoring this new Sunset fire in the Hollywood Hills. Only ~4 miles away from our place. Getting go bags ready just in case.

Been out here for 10 years now, I've never seen anything quite like this.

Stay safe. Make your way up to the Bay, we got room for you.

You know I love you, baby- but, man, getting little kind offers that spell out “you’re not alone” like this when I have been freaking out with this scenario in the past meant so much to me.

Hey hey, RiotPunch. Can we get an update on how you’re going?

Shin is definitely the best cheap one imo. If you can splurge and get a pack of Ichiran, it's worth it though. Ichiran is a chain in Japan, although I think they have US locations. I was just there last month and was able to get a 5 pack for $15, when its $35 online in the US.

Yeah they are! I got a variety pack recently and the bbq chicken ones are good too. Looking forward to trying the curry ones next.
Those and Shin Black are probably my favorites, depending on if I want dry noodles or soup.

Also since they were in the video - IMO don't waste money on the Momofuku noodles. David Chang sucks, and A-Sha makes the noodles, so just buy those instead for like half the price.

I assume/hope no one was actually curious, but I think it's hilarious - I **** hate that guy in the Particle Men commercial FDTV always airs, and there's a great Reddit sub for **** commercials. Went to see if there was a post for the Particle commercial, and not only is there one, but someone shared that it's a private label Alibaba product

Shin is good, definitely recommend. I personally like the Buldak Black Spicy Chicken and when I'm feeling adventurous, the Red 2x Spicy Chicken. I like the flavor packet a bit more in the Shin, but Buldak's noodles are better.

It's funny that you mentioned this, because my lunch these last couple days has been a mixture of the Red Buldak 2x Spicy Ramen and an incredibly tasty lentil soup that we make from scratch. We make the lentil soup, then make a packet of the Ramen, and then mix a couple scoops of each together. It's dangerously good. Creamy, spicy, savory, and just a bit of acidity from the lemon in the lentil soup.

Recipe, please.

1. Dice a medium onion
2. Saute in about a tbs of olive oil for about 3 minutes.
3. Add half a cup red lentils, one shredded carrot, 1 tbs of ground coriander seed, 1 tbs of cumin, 1 tsp of black pepper and 1 tsp of salt.
4. Mix and saute for another 2 minutes.
5. Add enough water to have about an inch of water above the ingredients.
6. Simmer for 20 minutes on medium heat, until the lentils are soft. The lentils will absorb a lot of water, and so keep an eye on it in case you need to add a little more water. Otherwise, you'll end up with more of a paste than a soup.
7. Immersion Blend

Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more water if it's too thick.

Serve with a squeeze of lemon.
