Unless he’s offered the HC position in Dallas.

So when does Parsons get his deal?

I am scared Dallas is going to play out his rookie deal and then franchise him, leading to a salty relationship and ultimately an even BIGGER contract down the road. They made that mistake with Dak 2x. Holding out on paying has always cost Dallas MORE. They need to just get him locked up now, it's still going to be expensive obviously, but cheaper in the long run.

So how about this? Deion as HC, Al Harris as DC, and Mike Irvin as OC! Who says no?

Technically he’s still under contract for 2 more years. Remember he has a 5th year option. So they really could play out this entire season and then offer him an extension next off season.

Irvin would at least be good at pre-game speeches and firing up the players. Outside of that I don't think he has anything to offer.

I already foresee Dallas dragging it all out as long as they possibly can and I don't like it.

This is technically their first interview request. I don’t believe they needed permission to interview Deion.

Saleh is very young. He was 20-36 with the Jets but it 's the Jets. Also he is a defensive minded guy so maybe he would also take over Zimmer's job as DC?

Don't love this idea, or hate it. Just kinda "okay"

Jason Garrett 2.0

Here’s the latest. Apparently Jerry Jones is on a solo mission to find the next coach of the Cowboys. He also REALLY WANTS Jason Witten to eventually be the Cowboys HC. “Got to get me one of those former TE’s who now a coach”. The bright side is he recognizes that Witten isn’t ready to be an NFL HC.

The downside is Jerry’s likely going to force any new HC to add Witten to the coaching staff and Witten will be the “HC in waiting” similar to Jason Garrett’s role when he was brought in as the OC. In other words he has already put the new HC in a bad position by hiring his eventual replacement before he hires the HC.

I don't hate the idea of grooming Witten into a HC. I mean, that's how it starts, going from assistant to HC.

I will say I haven't heard Witten speak in while, and he did play a very long time, I'm slightly concerned he might be a little CTE-ish if you know what I mean. I wouldn't want Emmitt Smith coaching for that reason.

You need two minority candidates to comply with the Rooney Rule. Saleh would qualify.

Leslie Frazier is #2.

I mentioned in the main thread that Jerry is likely getting info on assistant coaches for the new HC’s staff. Possibly looking for an OC and DC.

There is speculation that he spoke to Salah and Frazier because he’s looking for a DC for Deion.

Oh boy...I was hoping the Rooney Rule theory with Deion was correct.

I mean, Jerry knows it would be a media spectacle. We'll see if Stephen allows to happen.

How do you guys feel about this scenario?

HC: Kellen Moore
DC: Robert Saleh (coached under Dan Quinn)

And Witten in some capacity, TE coach maybe?

I'd be good with this. Would Saleh accept a non-HC role though?

After his time with the Jets he might have to go back to being a DC to repair his image. I read that he’s likely heading to San Fran to be their DC if he doesn’t get another offer.

I’m really starting to think the coaching staff is going to end up being:

HC: Kellen Moore
OC: Brian Schottenheimer
DC: Leslie Frazier

If I had my choice though:

HC: Aaron Glenn
OC: Brian Daboll
DC: Robert Saleh

I’d draft Ashton Jeanty at 12 and then load up on defense and OL in the draft and FA. That’s just me though.
