I'm sure it's all been discussed but going into next year i think they need a stud corner that's actually available. I could ignore Jaire being a twat if he was actually playing but **** dude. You play like 6 games a year.

The D-line was obviously disappointing. No consistent pressure from anywhere. Considering the resources that they've put in to thst group, more is needed. The lack of any really pass rush put so much more strain on a secondary missing it's best corner.

My offseason wishlist:
Stud corner to push the rest of them down the line. They were all playing up a spot this year.
Stud pass rusher...consistent push from the line would make everything on that side look better
Either a true #1 reciever or a burner that can stay on the field.
Oline help...I think there were many times this year where Jacobs made them look better than they are.
only a fan, only an opinion

I keep going back and forth between CB or DE/DT, if I had to choose. Packers had the second fewest passes defended but they ran a lot of zone. They were also tied for 8th in the league for sacks. I guess they probably could play man more with a stud DE/DT.

Hey at least we can all rest easy knowing the great track record we have picking defensive players round 1 :)

Oof yeah. I think I'd rather they just dip into the ol' free agency instead.

It's rare that any of the first or second day FA signings are worth it. If you're really good teams try to lock you up before you ever hit free agency.

That said, the Bengals are a cheap as hell franchise. Higgins might not be worth the huge deal he gets, but if you're a team with a lot of cap space and you need a WR, why not give him a bunch of money up front?

Tee Higgins fits the exact mold of Gute free agency signing. He's 25 has been a good player but not great player yet and there's upside there still. WR is also a position of need. Every time we have had cap space Gute has signed guys just like him: Zadarius, Preston, McKinney, Jacobs. All young guys that were good and were great for us on their second contracts.

The Bengals can be cheap but I also wouldn't sign Tee back to a massive deal if I were them. At a certain point you need money allocated to stop the other team from scoring or block for your QB.

I guess they could sign him and allocate every single pick the next few years to OL/defense, but you get some seasons like this when you only focus on the other positions.

I don't think so. What would be funny is the Packers were blasted for drafting Love over Higgins and can end up with both. But I don't want to give him top FA WR money.

I think Rashan Gary's improvement on run defense went largely unnoticed this season. It was a pretty significant jump and I ended the season feeling pretty good about him again.

Sacks are an easy stat to track. Stuff like this run defense stat isn't. Good to know.

Day 2 of Kay Adams recruiting Davante back to GB. She's putting on the full court press lol. I think I remember her saying her sisters husband and kids are all big packer fans, so maybe that's why. She did this with McKinney last year.

I know it's pretty much the anti-Packers move (older free agent WR), but I'd much rather nab Davante on a front-loaded short-term deal than break the bank for Tee Higgins.

Right there with you. Tee is a nice player, but I think Davante can provide similar production for potentially much less money and he could help mentor some of our young guys. Maybe he can give Dontayvion Wicks the secret to overcoming the dropsies.

I think I agree. We'd still need to add a deep threat to go with Davante but give me Davante on a short term deal over Higgins on whatever huge deal he's going to get.

Gary got a lot of flack for being an "underwhelming" Pro-Bowl selection, but he's still one of the most complete/well-rounded Edge defenders in football even if the sack numbers don't reflect it. The bigger issue is obviously the production you're getting from the opposite edge spot, and it was replacement level. LVN looks like a bust, Enagbare looks like he's plateaued, and Cox/Mosley are just guys. If we're talking about giving up multiple Day 1 and 2 picks for Crosby, then **** it, why not just pony up for the main prize and see what it would take to pry Garrett from Cleveland?

LVN played 31 snaps against the Eagles, 1 less than Gary. He only played a few more snaps this year (459) than last year (443). He had 1 more tackle this year, 1 less sack. You expect a player, especially a first rounder, to make a jump in his second year. LVN is a bust.
