I think Ingram would be valuable to us on offense even if he weren't consistent at taking 3's instead of 2's. The injury hisotry and looming contract are the way bigger issues to me. Also I don't want to disrupt the team's chemistry by giving up important rotational players, especially for someone with so many question marks.

Nah. You don’t want a guy playing starter minutes with Cade that wants to operate in the same general area. Cade is near elite in his midrange game and still improving. Surround with snipers, lob finishers, and guys that can make the second pass. You only make exceptions for guys that play hella tough defense.

Honestly, I think Tobias operates in that same area. It's not like Ingram would *never* shoot the three either. I think the offensive fit could work just fine.

I wouldn't trade for him at this point for the other reasons, though.

The central question is, does DET want Ingram?

Ingram is only 27yrs old. To me, if Ingram gets traded it will be to a team that wants to resign him, probably for less than what he is seeking, b\c who else is going to be able to pay him if he was on the open market?

Some of the teams with projected cap space: BRK, WAS have no likely desire for him, CHA? Maybe, SA\HOU? although Ingram would have to take a big shave on what he wants to go there. I mean the options are limited

Does NO want to get any (even discounted) value for him? Do they think they can convince him to stay and sign for less? If they let him walk for nothing they could have around $33mil in cap space? Do they value that more? Or could they package him for whatever assets they can get + take expiring deals back and get the space AND re-coup some assets

Interestingly, if they took back Ayton, he expires the same year as CJ, that is like $66mil next (26') offseason, some potentially big names available then
