Precious to this point looks like a decent role player but Portland has at least 3 forwards ( Deni, Camara and Grant) who if healthy definitely play ahead of him and 2 centers( Ayton and Clingan) who do also. RW3 if nothing else is a guy Portland should want working with Clingan so has value to Portland . If you want him you need to offer something of value to Portland. And despite his name Precious doesn't have value to Portland.

I'll type it again, very slowly this time:
"I didn't propose a trade for RW."
Still with me? Accordingly, I couldn't care less about how/why you prefer to keep Timelord. Full stop. I was responding to why this trade idea--again, not my idea--sucks for both the Pistons and the Knicks.
I think it's awesome that some of you still think that the oft-injured Timelord will net you a positive return in a trade, garnering you both youth and picks. I wish I had the same optimism about the oft-injured Robinson, another guy with incredible defensive skills whose body won't allow him to stay consistently on the court. I mean, Robinson has only managed to play 320 games in his first seven years--sucks, huh? No way we're getting a positive return on him in a trade, right?
Oh, wait, Timelord has managed to play just 227 in seven years. Never mind.
Yeah, neither the Pistons nor the Knicks want to do this trade, as neither team improves afterward. Good luck to you guys!
I will talk even slower for you since you can't keep up. Precious Achiawa is nothing special. Portland has no use for Precious so keep your Precious. Portland already has a very similar player in Jabari Walker who doesn't get playing time and has two young forwards in Deni and Camara who will eat up most of the available minutes. They also have Jerami Grant if he isn't traded, a young ( admittedly middling ) prospect in Kris Murray. That means there is very few minutes at forward for Precious. Perhaps you expect Precious to play at center ? Even after a trade of RW for Precious that would put Precious as the third string center behind Ayton and Clingan at best as Portland would also still have Duop Reath who at least has more size and a better career 3 point percentage. Portland has no interest in Precious because he isn't anything special. Trading Timelord for him would at best be a trade to make a trade. It serves no purpose for Portland. Having Timelord you can at least hope he serves as a mentor to Clingan whereas Precious might be fun to have just for the Gollum gifs.
Oh and a Knick fan proposed the initial trade which every Blazer fan who has posted in the thread citing the same reason that if the Blazers trade Timelord they want assets that help the rebuild.otherwise we would prefer to keep him. We aren't even asking much since a decent second or two might be enough but Precious does nothing to help Portland in it's rebuild.
Good deal. The Knicks have no use for Timelord either. Heck, even the Knicks fan who posted the OP didn't want that always injured bum on our team. (You'll notice that he tried to send Timelord to Detroit instead--hoping to finagle Beasley and Duren out of them on the sly--and the Detroit fans weren't too happy about that either.)
Since you don't want Precious, and neither Detroit nor the Knicks want/need Timelord--and everyone, including the Knicks, really likes their current rosters as is--it looks like we're done here. Yeah!
