Seems obvious to me - because we have 2 viable centers on the roster, one of which who is still recovering from a year vacation due to injury.

so snag a D-League guy for the rest of this tank season or hope one of our other guys (Micic/Martin/Green) is moved for a big.

our last couple D-League call ups have proven Nick is a nobody. He's been outclassed by Moussa, and there wasn't even any discernible difference between him and the few minutes Marques Bolden gave us last season.

Cycle through some ten days, and I doubt it takes more than a couple tries to find someone that gives us about 80-90% of what Nick gave us.

I get you're a Nick hater and that's fine, but you're not going to convince me that there was no discernible difference between him and Bolden.

Pretty indifferent to this. I wonder what we'll get for Martin or Green now, it doesn't make sense to have them and Okogie on the team at the same time.

Doesn't hurt our ability to package contracts for a bigger move at least. FO also did Nick good getting him a starting job on a contending team. Best of luck and thanks, Nick.

Does anyone else see this as possibly being partially an endorsement of Diabate?

Hope the change of scenery is good for him. FT disparity should get worse for the Hornets with his absence. Bring on the new backups.

Yeah, Moussa doesn't know his own strength. We know what Nick is by now. Gave a thorough evaluation and drew the correct conclusion.

Moussa is a diamond in the rough. Let's see what we can do with him now that he gets to play some with starters and with LaMelo.

Mark should be good for 28 minutes. So I think we see Moussa for 20. He's going to ball out. And the coach seems to be integrating paint offense since Mark returned. The players are getting better at getting the ball to the bigs.

Our defense is going to improve, no question.

Can we still flip (effectively) expiring Okogie before the trade deadline for a year of bad salary next year in exchange for draft compensation?

A funny trade would be Okogie to Denver for Zeke and more Denver draft picks.

Are we really doing revisionism on Nick Richards nkw? I thought we all realized how bad he was?

Diabate has been objectively better than him this year anyway.

Seems we dodged including Martin in the deal and getting stuck with Nurkic next year. Good on that. Deal is sorta meh but we saved $ next season, got 3 picks for the future and improved the tanking. So I guess it is a win. Some small gains and no real harm.

For the minority here who is for some reason, worried about our chances this season still... please look at the big picture. We moved a player that was not in out future for an additional stash of seconds (mind you we're losing two to San Antonio after this year due to the pick not conveying) and got who we thought Josh Green was in Okogie to evaluate for 3 months. We have an excellent stash of draft capital, cap flexibility and contracts to make bigger moves with. We were winning/losing the same amount of games with/without Nick Richards this season and I cannot stress enough how damaging his low basketball IQ is for everyone on the floor despite any numbers he puts up or size he provides. Just a bad fit for this roster overall.
