the toaster oven is 2/3 complete
30sec to go and counting

too many talking heads believe in the sixers "once they get all their stars together"
history says that is not a reasonable expectation

PG is currently the worst contract in the NBA. The only way they're able to move it is if they attach multiple FRPs.

Would an expansion team take him?

Good question. They might. Are there any rules around max contracts and expansion drafts though?

Soon? They're already toast now.

Embiid can't stay healthy. That podcast P contract is awful. They don't have anything.

They do have Maxey and McCain and some extra picks from the Clippers.

And if Embiid wants out (pretty sure that will happen next summer), they will add some more.

But the pick from this season will go to Thunder if not top 6, that's important

I'd be stunned if any team traded away a haul of picks for Embiid now. He's getting injured way too frequently and will likely start declining soon. The injuries will take their toll.

Yeah very few teams will want Embiid who can't play back to back or 3 games in a week at this point....

That Paul George contract is exactly what Pat Riley doesn’t want to do with Jimmy Butler down in Miami

I know, but he will get you something.

Together with McCain, Maxey, LAC picks, own picks and something for Embiid, ... They wouldn't be starting from 0

Embiid's got to keep his body fresh for those epic playoff performances we've come to know and love him for!

They may make the play-in. But the Bulls could still make a play for Zion or something, and unlike Philly, they show up every night. So even that is no given.

Even if you make the play-in for the 9 or 10 seed, you are out if you lose one of the next 2 games and if you win both of those games, you will face a team like the cavs and we all know the 76ers have never beat a great team in the playoffs since 2018 and this is a long road for them to just make the playoffs and the expectation was much higher than that before this year....This team is a true disaster,Embiid can't even play 2 games per week right now and this is almost the same for podcast P

My prediction is that they will finish reg season as the 10th seed, win the play-in games and take the 8th seed and then lose to the Cavs in the first round.

They'd be in such a better position right now if all that PG8 money went into a depth package to bolster their bench/upgrade a starter or 2. I know the market wasn't crazy pickings for Philly this past offseason, but come on ... There HAS to have been a smarter move.

On paper, and on 2K this team is amazing. But, between PG's age and injury history ... Why? When the writing is on the wall, why make such costly mistakes? Even when I'm doing fantasy draft team building on 2k, it's always important to understand the downsides of any roster decision made, even if it seems like a no brainer.

I know hindsight is 20/20, and many GM's believe you can't pass on opportunities to obtain star players, but that way of thinking is just wrong. Imagine the hull the Sixers would have gotten if they took that cap space they freed up and then traded Embiid to rebuild around Maxey. It could have been enough for a quick retool. And if that team can make it to the 2nd round, they would already be just as good as The Process era.

Sixers are a joke. Never to be taken seriously as an ECF threat, never mind title contender. Embiid likely to be the only MVP ever to not even make a conference finals appearance which is pathetic.

East is very weak. Basically Celtics have a free path to the Finals unless the Bucks catch fire and get favorable matchups in the playoffs. But nobody else in the East is really worth taking seriously.

I love witnessing the parallel journeys of the 76ers and the Bucks. whenever the Bucks are struggling "oh Giannis is demanding out, what a failure they are, etc" but whenever the 76ers are struggling "no worries, they'll get healthy and seeding doesn't matter as long as they make it in"
