GT: Knicks vs T-Wolves 1/17/25 7:30PM EST

Post#1 » by TKKnicks1 » Thu Jan 16, 2025 2:34 pm

Ugly win against the 76ers. Thibs tried his best to give the win away. I said it in the post game - whenever a team has two bonified all-stars its gonna be a tough win regardless of what their record is. It didn't help either that we were without KAT.

On to the next one...

Minnesota Timberwolves (21-19, eighth in the Western Conference) vs. New York Knicks (27-15, third in the Eastern Conference)

INJURIES:

Knicks: Karl-Anthony Towns: day to day (thumb), Mitchell Robinson: out (ankle).

Timberwolves: Terrence Shannon Jr.: out (ankle).

----------------------------------------------------

Will they each get a tribute video?!

Heres my tribute. F them. They don't wear orange and blue anymore.

Lets keep the positive vibes going Knicks fans! Block out the Thibs and minutes noise and be grateful we dont have Elfrid Payton running point and Luke Kornet manning the middle. Remember where you came from.

Melo is going to have a field day as the Wolves blow out the gassed Knicks.

Let's go streaking TKKnicks!! No Diddy! We need to make another run. These next few games are very winnable. Not sure how we survive this KAT injury or how many games he will miss. Just get this W!

Despite the lunatic minutes by the starters this team has been healthy. OG has yet to miss a game. Hart just one for personal reasons. Brunson just one.

I hope as the season progresses we utilize load management and give these guys some games off.

Mikal/Hart/OG are all in the top ten. Jalen and KAT have played 38-40+ many times. This tweet is ridiculous. Thibs absolutely runs players into the ground. We see it every game. This dude apparently does not watch the games. KAT played 78 minutes in a B2B and was hurt a week ago.

I think the hidden reason is Thibs doesn’t play both together much because of their defense so their mins usage isn’t as high compared to OG, Hart and Mikal whom can all actually defend. So Thibs is going to play them the most minutes.

people talk about having hart lead the bench but i think he's actually super useful with high usage guys like kat and brunson. the real move is to start deuce and let mikal run the bench with his buddy from the suns

seeing deuce's 40+ 3P% next to hart solidified this notion in my mind

OG has looked tired. the injury argument is part of it but it's also a fatigue thing - both in individual games and as the season goes on.

knicks net rating by quarters

1st quarter +3.3 (ranked 7th)
2nd +14.2 (ranked 1st, so much for our bench sucking as this is the quarter cam, mcbride, precious play most)
3rd +10.4 (ranked 5th)
4th -2.9 (ranked 22nd)

4th is our only negative quarter. before people blame it on blowouts - that is nonsense.

Mikal and Hart are 1 and 2

OG is 7th

Brunson is 23rd

KAT is 28th

Our next most played guy is Deuce, who would be 151st

So we have 5 guys in the top 30 in mpg, and y'all think that's normal?
