Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
So, don't trade for Jimmy because it breaks up the idealized version of our current team?
Btw, are the heat even interested in Middleton/Brook and maybe a pick 6 years from now? I'm not sure they would be. Other teams can and likely will make a better offer.

Did you remember how little Philly got when they sign and trade Jimmy last time?

I hear that Stephen Curry isn't happy being on a mediocre team so maybe we can just get him instead? GSW is going nowhere

WW GIANNIS DO?
Not trade Khris. I think that building positive organizational rep would also be to ride it out.
They're going super mercenary in this scenario. First it was Jrue for Dame, now Khris for Jimmy.
fAFo, when the team loses or Dame & Jimmy just walk anyway.
Giannis looks around, says okay, this organization isn't loyal like I am, I'm out, trade me.

Bringing in Jimmy Butler is like when Cousin Dom came to visit on Entourage.
Brook’s Yoda figure is gonna get stolen and that’s when all heck will break loose.

I'm done with this thinking. Giannis has been here 13 years. If we make a move he doesn't like and asks out so be it. I know he's besties with Khris but if trading Khris is the right move (I'm not saying it is, and I don't want Butler), then do it. Giannis, Khris, Brook, Pat, Bobby are all tight. That's cool. But the goal is to win another title (and I'm still very grateful for the one we have).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Again if we are trading away our first round pick we need to trade it to OKC for multiple firsts.

whats the deal with wanting butler? if he's engaged and interested you get a DOG. but he hasn't been engaged and interested since he went nuts on the bucks in the playoffs. Plus he wants a max extension. and he's 35. if theres a way to make the team older, jimmy is the guy.

I do not want to make this move for Butler, but it certainly has nothing to do with Giannis' bff. We've got to let that go.

Because the current Bucks are going nowhere and our options are extremely limited because of our cap situation, lack of picks and lack of desirable assets.
Any deal the Bucks make is going to come with a hefty amount of risk. It's just the reality of where we're at.

This is where I am at as well. Giannis isn't smart enough to put togeher a Championship caliber team. The Bucks have paid him well and has bent over backwards all these year for him. Loyalty has nas been a problem. At least the team realizes that current team isn't a contender and is willing to try something. Wiould Bulter push the team over the edge? Which edge? I don't know. I am on the fence.MickeyDavis wrote:theFireBlanket wrote:WW GIANNIS DO?

It can't hurt our negotiating posture that Phoenix is now down a couple seconds and Golden State isn't that interested in Butler anymore.
I'm not sure if Miami is getting a better offer than Khris + Bobby almost regardless of what draft assets would end up going their way.
And yes, if anyone is stubborn enough to keep Jimmy and try to trade him again later in that scenario chaos be damned, it'd be Riley.

Ideally, the Warriors want to give Curry and fellow franchise stalwart Draymond Green another shot at competing for a championship in the latter stages of their careers, but they won’t mortgage future assets just to make a trade.
The Warriors have continued their due diligence on the trade market and inquired about potential frontcourt upgrades, including Nikola Vucevic, John Collins, Jonas Valanciunas, and Robert Williams, league sources told HoopsHype. Conversely, the chances of Golden State acquiring previously reported wing targets such as Jimmy Butler and Cam Johnson have decreased, sources said.

Elite spacing is not going to help us stop anyone in the playoffs. Dame/Giannis/Jimmy is enough offense to win in the playoffs
I believe we are 3rd in defensive rating since the 2-8 start and are 9th overall on the season. The above statement just isn't true.
When you face the same elite scorers 4-7 times, it'll be different, that's just a fact. DEF rating can get sku'd when you're playing bad teams.

I have no reason to believe that Horst thinks the team isn't a contender. I think he thinks they are a contender. As do I.
But I understand the skepticism, given the consistently inconsistent play this season.

I doubt there's a single other team pursuing Jimmy besides Phoenix. We shouldn't give Miami anymore for Jimmy than they gave up to get him from Philly.

Looking at sweeteners in the Midds/Bobby/Pat package for Jimmy I'm definitely not including that 2031 FRP. Obviously I have zero concerns adding the 2031 SRP and whatever cash. I'm also OK if any from Wright/Prince/Marjon/Livingston/Smith hold any value to fascilitate this trade.
Not touching anything else though.

Did you know a much younger Jimmy Butler was gotten by Miami for much less than this?

Not beating Boston or Cleveland is big reason for me. Injuries is another. Doc is another. Don't get me wrong but I would love to be wrong.BigO wrote:msiris wrote:This is where I am at as well. Opportunity cost is a big variable to Butler scenarios if Horst has another option to significantly improve the team available.
That and whatever communications with Jimmy's team are happening behind the scenes.

So Golden State "won’t mortgage future assets just to make a trade."
Maybe they'd do a sneaky cap cutting move to swap Wiggins for Brook.
Kuminga and Wiggins are bad fits together. If they're keeping Kuminga then a stretch 5 like Brook would help a lot too.
Not saying I'd do this just thinking what else could be out there -- especially if we could drop Pat without too much trouble:
Bucks trade: Brook, Pat, 2031 second
Bucks receive: Wiggins [and Trayce Jackson-Davis ideally just not sure if we could get him]
Warriors trade: Wiggins [and Tayce Jackson-Davis if we could swing it]
Warriors receive: Brook
Detroit or a team with a TPE trades: cap space
Detroit or a team with a TPE receives: Pat, 2031 second
