idk if they overturn.

to overturn it has to be 100% obvious blown call.

This is the NBA after the fact saying when weighed on merit, it was not a foul.

Two different standards.

Maybe but lately you hear refs overturn using language like, incidental contact or some such. In any case there was no reason to save a challenge at that point, nothing to lose

I hear ya, I just think thibs is greedy and only will do it if it a) appeases his favorite players (Hart, Brunson) or if he is 100% on it.
You are correct though.

That would make him stupid. He already made the mistake of not challenging. If those are the reasons he didn't challenge, then he's a moron.

The only thing that Thibs takes a chance on is his players joints and bones. Otherwise very conservative.

I think the real problem is the bench is unbalanced

Like, even with Mitch healthy, we would have 2 bench guards (Deuce and Payne) and 2 bench bigs (Mitch and Precious), with no bench wings

Lacking any backup for Mikal/OG is the real problem, but that circles back to being an FO issue. Ryan Dunn isn't amazing, but he's a wing defender in their mold who was available. I know we didn't have KAT at the time so we didn't know for sure what the team was looking like, but the fact we took a wing and don't play him is a bad look when we need a backup wing

The way I imagine they're gonna try and fix it is by benching Hart and starting Mitch next to KAT, but that creates problems of its own, namely that our big advantage comes from KAT at the 5, and playing him next to a non-spacing big is gonna neutralize any defensive gains.

Yeah everything they did in off season was in win now mode, except they drafted a young project in Dadiet rather than a more NBA ready Ryan Dunn.

But then would Thibs play any rookie significant minutes?

Dadiet agreed to a reduced contract

He is also already better than Ryan Dunn but people here aren't ready for that conversation.

Dadiet the guy who struggles to score 16 in the G-League?

Also, I get Aller was trying to do some cap wizardry in support of a future Towns trade, but why not save the $ some other way, like not draft Hukporti?

They could have drafted Dunn, instead they drafted three projects that Thibs won't play.

Now Thibs is showing his ass, because he's upset the FO saddled him with three players who aren't over the age of 30

We got enough scoring.

We need a wing who can defend a lil get pushed around on the boards and occasionally miss a 3 really bad. 3pac has that covered.

Jokes aside, he has honestly looked like an nba player in the limited mins he has got up here. Fck Westchester. Let the kid get some run here.

Thibs is a dinosaur, his offensive isn't that creative, he doesn't adjust well to good opposing defensive coaches and he won't adjust his own defensive scheme to fit his players, but it can be also true the Knicks bench just isn't that good, and more importantly, the ceiling you see with the starters has a lot to do with the starters, because it's who they are.

Too many years posting on this forum and 99% of the time, it's the players.

My position is this- I'm just going to enjoy the season. Can't constantly annoy myself over the FO, Thibs and even the players. AT the end f the day- I think we'll get a ring with in 2-3 years and I'm good with that.
How was that game live Buzz?

Good game, good atmosphere, since half the arena was rooting for the Knicks!

Mitch/Precious/Sims/Suckporti - make that FOUR bench bigs. That's imbalance.

And still agree, I'm basically the leader of this opinion, that drafting Dadiet was FO malpractice.

Knicks treated the 2024 draft like it was the 2025 draft, as if they had the luxury to develop THREE players among 15.

I have no idea if Dadiet will become anything, but the issue is they built a contender and needed to draft for NOW. A 19 year old needing development is not a Thibs move.

On the other hand, Kolek can ball NOW, so we can blame the FO a little, but there's a still Thibs in the end.

And the little we saw of Hukporti initially seemed very promising as he is literally the only true defensive C prototype on the team. I still cannot see how Sims is better than him other than they're going to trade Sims and will then afterwards roll out Hukporti.

Knick fans deserve Layde/IT/L Brown/P Jackson days I swear.

Great players play, but can you explain how leading MVP candidate SGA is at 34.4mpg, #33rd in mpg ??

The Thunder don't have to play their best player ALL OF FKIN 2nd HALF + OT to keep winning.

So you're great, we gonna keep playing you til your wheels fall off... !!???

A 40 year old born is playing 35 min game, this minutes thing is the stupidest stuff i have heard a fan base complain about, what guys do you guys want in the rotation? Ther is 3 guys off the bench playing. With Mitch it'll be 4 and everyone can chill with guys getting an extra 4 min rest a game, ridiculous....

why are we playing guys with extensive injury history who are known to miss a bag of games each season 40+ minutes? aren't we putting them in position for the worst to happen?
