Boucher's Trade Value

Post#1 » by Thaddy » Fri Jan 17, 2025 6:24 am

He's having a good season. 11 / 5 / ~1 assist / ~1 steal / ~1 block in about 20 minutes a game. He could be a good sixth man on a contending team and look great on the Nuggets.

What would his trade value be? A 2nd in the 40-50 range? Distant first rounder with severe protection?

6th man on a contending team feels like a major reach.

Meh 2nd and an EC that doesn't play or multiple 2nds and a 2 year deal.

He's more of a 7th or 8th man on a bench. He can score in bunches when he gets hot, in the playoffs I would bank on him doing that a couple of games. That would be huge in a deep run.

I would say you could find a similar player in the 2nd round, so meh 2nd does seem realistic. The Raptors are probably holding out for a first round pick and hoping his play can sell that idea.

That has felt like it will be the top bid for a couple months now.

If I were to guess, LAC is not taking that until close to the deadline in case a better option comes up. But maybe it is the opposite, Toronto is holding out for a better asset not afraid to lose two distant 2nds.

Getting a 1st would be an unrealistic expectation.

Expect a 2nd or 2 plus filler.

My hope is that Masai targets a young extra filler who has fallen out of favor with their team like when he grabbed Ochai, who he thinks they can turn into a good rotation guy.

The only way they get a 1st is if Tor sends back Portlands 2nd....so that it's more like a 10-12 spot drop in the draft for Boucher. But even then, unlikely. Add 2nds in 2027 and 2028 to have extra picks in the pipeline coming is my expectation.

Cash & a SRP or two to buy him out? Would be curious to see what Thibs could do with him after his success with Precious. Not sure you get an actual prospect for Boucher and he definitely shouldn't get a FRP.

Interesting but Toronto isn't going into the luxury tax for Ryan Dunn by taking on $20 million of Nurks final year

if a team has worse expiring money they might give a 2nd? If Toronto is willing to take back 2 years deal they might could get a couple 2nds?

Feels like a nothing else came together but we could use a big to help get through the regular season kinda guy really.

The Nets trades have basically set the market for this kind of deal.

A mediocre second round pick AT BEST. Likely not even that.
