At this point I can't take anyone who brings that up seriously

What often happens in these seasons when one team's identity is built on defense, they typically just play harder on defense than most other teams.

The narrarive was that OKC is stacked. And one player isn't responsible for a 70 win pace. OKC has elite defensive personnel and a system and higher energy defenders playing with playoff defensive intensity when other teams simply aren't. Water will find its level. You guys can enjoy the flexing though.

Poor guy is so sad tatum and celtics suck and sga is killing it.

Pretty crazy with the kind of season Jokic is having that SGA is the runaway MVP right now, but here we are.

Giannis is not too far behind statistically (in a lot of categories such as 3rd in Box +/-, 3rd in VORP, 3rd in PER and other advanced metrics) ... Bucks would have to go like 38-5 the 2nd half of the season of the season with Giannis playing even better (35 PPG and locked in on defense) than he has to start the season and even then it would be a close race because the Bucks are so far behind.... obviously if Jokic or SGA got injured that could push one out of the race.

Right now its like

50% SGA
48% Jokic
1% Giannis (even 1% might be too much considering it would take a massive Bucks run to get them to 2nd in the East)
1% Field

"Runaway" is too strong a word. Jokic is ahead in some advanced stats. SGA is ahead in others. Both have amazing traditional stats

Thunder are better than Denver because SGA is a better more valuable player? OKC fans need to be humbled

It’s Jokic fans who need to be humbled. Saying stuff like he’s already top 10 all time, better than peak LeBron etc.

lebron Peak with refeeres and league protection ?

Jokic is far better player than lebron, lebron is fragile walking ego. He can't anything close to do what Jokic did. Only thing he is better is selling his team and teammates.

After Stern is succesfully cash from Jordan protection, new generation players get more protection then more and more. And nba is turn to circus show, former mvp's half points is offensive foul, new generation gun lover pg all driplings are travellings or carrying, nearly all of step backs threes is travelling.

For what ? marketing lebron and similar shiny players. Who cares about the game ? Who needs game, tiktok followers is much more important today. For a few years later mvp award probably gives to who has more followers.

Only player I can watch is Jokic, pure basketball, Last night I try to watch OKC, for every contact sga try to sell as foul, disgusting.

It’s the best guard season besides MJ statistically. Deal with it

Is he having a better season than 2015-2017 Curry or 2018-2020 Harden?

Yes. Offensively it’s slightly below them, but being a likely All NBA defense 2nd or 3rd teamer bridges the gap. Would Jordan be who he was without also taking into account his defense? Because peak Curry and Harden weren’t good defenders (though Curry at least became solid or above average for a couple years)

Curry and Harden were better playmakers which is for me what at least makes it a good debate. Although I’m not sure how much better OKC could be if SGA averaged 2-3 more assists and didn’t take the shots. Likely worse.

I couldn't imagine having so much negative energy towards someone like this... and especially when you consider how wrong/biased this person is.

One of Giannis or Wemby goes on an insane winning streak while posting ridiculous numbers and get their team to 3rd place at least in their conference. This would be more impressive for Victor. Zero chance it happens but in this hypothetical, if SA somehow won 50+ games (they would need to go like 31-12 the rest of the way) and Victor keeps posting ridiculous statlines then I could see him winning simply because everyone in the media had SA as a bottom 3-4 team in the West this season

I do think SGA has overtaken Jokic at this point, which is crazy to think about.
