It's ridiculous to really think it is anything more than a generic statement directed at the team overall. Play better and you win. Period. People trying to pin this on any one single person are being silly. Ever think he was talking about himself as well?
yup, i agree that it's more of a general postgame sports-speak PR quote. i'm just saying who it could be directed towards if anybody, and that thinking it's about any coach is hopeful projection
Thinking it is about anyone is hopeful projection. It's a generic statement that could be applied to any losing team. HC to the last man on the court. Uninformed opinions about who it is directed towards are nothing more than that. Thibs is an arrogant coach. JB/Hart or both arrogant on different levels. Maybe he was talking about all three. Himself included. Who cares?
We are 26-14. Nothing to see here.
the point is that when you talk about sacrifice and checking egos after an nba game it is 100% obviously not about the coach, whether it's just empty platitudes, about the team as a whole, or some spooky allusion to a certain player, it is objectively a statement about what the team is doing on the floor. not about the coach, schemes, or minutes
