Maybe…not saying Peterson is trash…just saying his moves aren’t producing results. I was all for the Green trade BTW, felt it was a good get. Either Green is just not so good, or he doesn’t fit this system, or the coaches don’t know how to use him. His poor defense is the shocker. Wasn’t happy with Salaun pick, still not.

Who is your current rookie flavor of the week?

For those we could have drafted I still say Clingan. Some here say he’s trash….Portland disagrees. They’re reportedly trying to trade their starting C to clear Clingan for more minutes. But how good would he look here backing up Mark? If Salaun showed any raw flashes athletically to be more than what I’ve seen, it would be great.

I’d still take Edey over him, his work ethic would fit the culture here as well. He’s constantly pushing himself up and down the court. He would be scoring more if they used him more but a lot of Memphis guards prefer to score themselves

My hope is for a limited rotational sub at the 4. Or maybe some other GM drinks too much wine in France and gets inspired to trade for Salaun.

Agree with previous post….two key Peterson moves (Salaun and Green) are really bad.

To be clear, I have no vested interest in Salaun. I hope he works out, but I literally knew nothing about him before we drafted him and if he wasn't playing for our team I wouldn't care about him at all. I don't know that he'll work out, and I'm not saying anyone should be confident he will.

But saying at this point in his development that it's a certainty that he'll never be anything and preemptively criticizing the FO for drafting him is just dumb IMO. We clearly do not know what he can or will be, and it reaks of complaining just to complain.

What's with this character assassination?

Lol

Was unaware that saying doing something was dumb is saying anything about someone's character but go on

You soft-bash opinions all the time. Can you disagree with a take without calling it dumb?

Sure

But saying a 19 year old rookie is absolutely not going to amount to anything ever before the all star break of his rookie year is dumb though.

But if you think I hurt the take's feelings or assassinated its character by calling it dumb then I will apologize to it.

Again, can you please disagree with an opinion without adding that it's dumb? It's inflammatory language and unnecessary.

Back to Salaün. Looks like Lee is still curbing his minutes. I hope he gets a stint in Gleague but we are trying to lose.

A dumb take does not indicate a dumb poster necessarily.

people gave up on the athletic prospects of 19-year-old HornetJail and nobody had a problem with it. He was simply too far away from contributing anything at the NBA level.

If I think an opinion is dumb I will say so and explain why.

The word dumb adds nothing to the discourse. It's insulting and incendiary. Points can be made without resorting to it.

I see nothing wrong with calling an argument dumb, as long as an explanation is provided as to why.

It's an antisocial word. It adds nothing to the discourse. It's simplistic. It's small.

I was thinking perhaps the explanation was adding to the discussion. I wasn't and continue to not be interested in a discussion of the value or lack thereof of the word dumb.

As I've said a couple times now, if you have an issue with a post, report it to the mods. Do not attempt to be one yourself.

I don't appreciate calling someone's opinion "simplistic" or "small". That's unnecessary and uncalled for.

I have been assured my opinion is perfectly adequate-sized.

Tidjane needs Greensboro right now, in the worst way.

You need to know directly yourself the impression it makes on other people. It's antagonistic and not at all constructive. The other mods aren't going to do **** about it and you know it. Only you yourself can do something about it. So do it.

You've normalized it. All it does is reduce opportunities to appreciate diversity in opinion.

I know you must feel upset Salaün looks this bad but it's on him to change the opinions of his detractors. Until then, people will call it like they see it.

He's awful.

I've already shared my opinion on him and on other's opinion of him in this thread. Instead of getting hung up on the word dumb, maybe read the whole post. I don't care if people think he's awful and I'm not saying they should think otherwise.

Calling him awful is certainly unfair. He seems like an awfully nice kid and puts in an awful lot of effort whenever he's on the floor.

I would definitely agree that he isn't playing well, but it's unfair and antagonist to call HIM awful.

I'm ready to talk about Salaün, thank you very much.

My stomach forms a knot when the ball is in his hands. Bad things happen.

This gut reaction I suspect is not unique to me as one of his detractors. I'm genuinely curious if posters who still like the pick ever get that reaction, like ever?
