A professional sports league prioritizing the viewer experience!

It shouldn't be, but these days that's a novel concept.

It's like the two people who came up with this league are actually fans of basketball and know what we want to see.

I have no complaints.

They do that at WWE events now that's in on Netflix.

Yeah I saw. I wasn't amused that Liv Morgan lost her title

I can't believe she's from Jersey. My friend took a photo with her like 10 years ago when she worked at Hooters in Paramus.

Phee and Stew got themselves something here. Very fun format. Top tier talent.

Cathy might wanna start watching her back.

Yeah she is, thats why I'm glad she has gotten popular. I saw a photo of her when she worked there, she looked so small compared to how she looks now

I don't even watch wrestling like that. I only watched Saturday Night's Main Event (which was fun) and Raw on Netflix because of her. I wasn't disappointed, that SNME match was bad ass

So wait, if you pay to watch Unrivaled live you get a double header each time?

Yeah I might need to make a trip to Miami.

I mean, she's still short, but I get what you mean.

But yeah, her rise over the last few years was great to watch. Her 2024 was even more amazing to the point where even when she turned heel against an amazing face in Rhea Ripley, she still had huge pockets of cheers from the crowd.

I thought I couldn't pick a favorite team but of course it's T-Spoon and Hamby's team.

Vinyl seem like a good bet to win it all too. Other teams might seem more star-studded, but the vinyl has a lot of talent and they've got to Arike, who was born to take down the teams that everybody is ready to crown.

Yeah she's still tiny height wise but man she put in some serious work in the gym. I respect it.

I like her as a heel honestly. I noticed that if she sees girls in the audience ringside with signs that support her she'll go up to them and blow them a kiss. She gets it.

As a heel, if she sees a sign she hates, she snatches it. I remember the last time she did that, my friend texted me immediately after "That guy definitely has wood right now."

Why do they have the crowd and the broadcast camera on the same side?

I know this is sorta goofy but has there every been a basketball thing with more than 5 people on each team? It's always a smaller number but why not 6 v 6 or 7 v 7 if you catch my drift lol

One issue is a venue. If the court isn’t bigger, it’d just be a horrible fustercluck the whole time. But having a bigger playing surface is a real issue, most places probsbly aren’t even capable of it.

Iowa women's high school basketball was 6 on 6 until into the 90's. The last high school state championship decided using 6 on 6 was around 1993, I believe.

The history of it is pretty fascinating. It was insanely popular. Think Caitlin Clark sized crowds for women's high school games in the 1950's.

And the history of it actually does maybe explain a little about how Caitlin Clark became Caitlin Clark. Clark never played 6 on 6, but everybody she learned basketball from did. It's how Lisa Bluder, among others, grew up playing.

It's 6 on 6, but 3 players on each team can't cross half court. A team's 3 forwards are on the side of the court with their offensive basket trying to score. The guards stay on the defensive side of the court to, you know, guard.

Anyway, it's a fast paced style that leads to a lot of passing, particularly long passes.

So, it's no shock that Iowa would one day produce a wildly popular wunderkind dazzling the world with long passes.
