Lakers, Jazz, Kings
I like the idea of the kings restructuring our roster and trying to get more playing time for Ellis and Monk. I think this trade might work well for all three teams both in terms of direction and value.
Kings trade: Derozan and Heurter 2nd round pick
Kings Receive: John Collins and Rui Hachimura
Lakers Trade: Rui Hacimura, C Wood, and Dalton Knecht
Lakers Receive:Demar Derozan
Jazz Trade: John Collins
Jazz Receive: Dalton Knecht, Heurter, and C Woods 2nd round pick
The kings do this because it drastically helps our roster rebalance.
Kings Lineup:
Fox/Carter
Monk/Ellis
Keegan/Hachimura
Collins/Lyles
Sabonis/Len
The lakers do this because of the talent upgrade and this should help them in the playoff race, I'm not exactly sure how their depth chart looks but it seems like they have solid pieces, but their starting lineup looks great.
Reaves
Derozan
Lebron
DFS
Davis
Jazz get a piece for their rebuild that looks like he could be pretty good in knecht and a 2nd rounder.
They have so many forwards that it's also nice to get collins out of the way to get the young guys more playing time. I think collins is likely just the first peice to get moved.
Sexton/Clarkson
George/Knecht
Williams/Sensabaugh
Markannen/Hendricks
Kessler

Re: Lakers, Jazz, Kings
This feels perfect for balancing Sac's roster. Derozan has been really good for us despite the initial blame he was getting (clearly was coach misuse) and has recently won us multiple games. Still we get bigger, and improve roster balance that is badly needed.
I can't see the Lakers including Knecht here, but I'm not sure how necessary that is. My adjustment would be
Kings out: Derozan, Huerter, McDermott or Len or Colby, Cash, 2nd
Kings in: Rui, Collins
Kings balance + still duck the tax for vivek.
Lakers out: Rui, Wood, JHS, 2 2nds
Lakers in: DeRozan
Simple upgrade
Utah out: Collins
Utah in: Huerter, JHS, Wood, 3 2nds
Save 6 mil this year, 10 mil next year, + get 3 2nds
4th Team in: McDermott or Len or Colby Jones + Cash
4th team out: top 55 protected 2nd
Team like Detroit could use Len and get cash to pay for his contract and make a little profit
4th team could be a contender with a TPE that wants a shooter or big. Or it could be a tanking team taking one of these guys for some cash.

Re: Lakers, Jazz, Kings
Collins is certainly available, buy I don't think that the Jazz would consider this. Not sure what's wrong with Huerter's shot this season and Knecht has lost most of his early luster.

Don't think Collins has the value for Jazz to save money, get a second and a decent prospect for him.

And yet try to find a Lakers trade proposal, usually from another team's perspective or neutral, that doesn't have Knecht included. Then when it's suggested he's replaced for other filler/value: "Nah, it doesn't work anymore..."

Re: Lakers, Jazz, Kings
I don't think any one of these teams would say no to this deal.
The Lakers aren't giving up too much, the kings aren't giving up too much, so what if the jazz get a little more value than you think they should.
Knechts value is debatable but I am pretty sure the jazz would be happy to get him in this deal and the Lakers likely don't hesitate if it gets them DeRozan.

I don't understand the obsession for Demar
I wouldn't give Rui straight up for Demar, let alone adding in a first or Knecht

As a Kings fan I cannot understand what world you guys think that a Kings GM would EVER make a trade with the Lakers and be able to keep his job if anything went sideways or the Lakers got better.
It’s just a non starter to talk about deals between division rivals. And there’s way to much bad blood between the franchises.

I think you could have Reaves, DeMar, LeBron playmaking (2 on at al times) surrounded by defensive players. That could work.
12 mins: Reaves, Christie, DeMar, LeBron, Davis
12 mins: Reaves, DFS, Vando, LeBron, Wood
12 mins: Christie, DeMar, DFS, LeBron, Davis
6 mins: Reaves, DeMar, DFS, Vando, Davis

I'm not giving 2 two-way players, for 1 one-way player, and then paying for the privilege

I'm not advocating for that trade one way or another but let's not act like DeMar isn't the best player in the deal by a good margin.

Have you watched him this year? Because at 35 years of age, he's clearly not the best player in the deal.
I thank god the Kings were stupid enough to give him 73 million or whatever crazy ass figure it was

Demar can still cook out there even at 35.

He dropped 31 on national TV last night as we beat the 2 seed. Hope you tuned in.

I like this for the Lakers. Would rather give up JHS + Wood than Vincent, though.
AR/Vincent/Milton
Christie/Knecht/Reddish
DFS/Vando
LBJ/DeMar
AD/Hayes/Jemison
DeMar is the 6th man but closes games depending on how well he's playing. Don't think you can play LBJ/DeMar/AR too many minutes together, though.

The Jazz don’t care about saving money or having it come off the books. Not for 2-3 years probably. Keep seeing trades where this is part of what the Jazz receive as value. It’s not something of value to the Jazz at the moment. It’s the opposite in fact. If the Jazz trade for guys coming off the books they just have to sign longer contracts for guys they will have to pay to offload in the future. If all Collins, Sexton, Clarkson can receive is one second round draft pick I think they would hold off until the offseason so they have those guys as trade chips come draft time. All they care about is picks and young guys they have scouted and want to bring onto the team.
Unless the Jazz are high on the prospect, this is a no thank you type of deal .

As I Jazz fan I disagree. Opening space next year allows us to gain even more assets via salary dump in the offseason and helps gear our current roster towards our current objectives better. 3 2nds of a 2nd and unprotected the Lakers 1st would be a great return for Collins.
