With the Cs just playing .500 ball the last month and a half, I think Brad has no choice but to make a move.

And to force Joe to play that move
Any move without playing time is nothing
We have Walsh, Tillman and Peterson on the bench with 0 meaningful minutes since KP is back
They are capable of playing with the starters and contributing
Playing JT and JB more than 42 minutes in a B2B is dumb
We needed some energy, rebounding and perimeter defense from our bigs yesterday. There were at least 10 minutes for Tillman to play. And let the wings sit a bit - play some Walsh for defense against their athletic wings, especially when Hauser is struggling with injury

That's why Brad needs to add a veteran.
Walsh is part of the future, but right now he's just not ready.
Tillman was given the chance early in the season and he didn't play well.
It's looking like the Celtics system is not a good fit for Tillman.
Guys like Coffey, Julian Champagnie, and even Javonte will get minutes with the Celtics.

I still think Tillman is better than Queta when you need to guard the perimeter and get rebounds. Less offense for sure

Definitely.
I was very happy when the Cs got Tillman.
The problem is Tillman seems to have regressed or he's not a good fit.
Maybe part of it is he's not a rim protector.
But to be fair to Joe, when Tillman was given the chance to play in November, he was really not productive.
What's more concerning is Sam is really limited on offense.
He's basically just a shooter.
Even on fast breaks Sam is not reliable.
It's time to find a better SF/SG to take Sam's 8th spot in the rotation.
Cs really need a bench player who can score driving to the basket.

I think that Tillman deserves another opportunity. I don't recall he played meaningful minutes with the starters like Kornet or Queta
And you are correct about Hauser. He is limited in his mobility and not looking good. We need another wing. In the mean time - play Walsh or Peterson. It's not like we will lose because of these two

A little move won't do it. This team needs a major shakeup.

To be fair, Sam’s hurt. He showed a taste of what he worked on in pre-season with driving to the basket. His defense also showed promise in the finals. I’ll keep beating the drum about two things. 1) his injury will have a huge impact because 2) IMO he’s the most trusted bench guy by the starters.

Sam's hurt? Maybe he should practice layups instead of trying to dunk the ball. That's just one of the unbelievably dumb plays that cost them last night's game.

I'm not saying trade Sam, but the Cs need someone with a different skill set.
A guy off the bench like a younger Alec Burks.
Amir Coffey would perfect.
I just don't know if he's a realistic target.

What are you thinking of?
I think we lack an athletic bench wing that can defend at a high level. Not a major move

Jrue Holiday to Houston
Steven Adams, Jeff Green, and Aaron Holiday to Nets
Cam Johnson to Celtics
Celtics also send picks to Nets.

Jaylen Brown to Miami for Jimmy Butler
Porzingis to Miami for Adebayo
They would have to be two separate 1 for 1 trades. Obviously Boston wouldn't do the first unless Miami were willing to do the second. Miami could also throw in a few FRP swaps in 2026 and 2028.

Both those trades don't work.
So even if, and that's a big if, both teams want to do it, your trade proposal is illegal.

Brown for Butler works under the second apron. One for one deal in which Boston is giving more salary than it is taking in. The second one may not work.
On another note, IMHO Dyson Daniels is a good player who isn't making much money. I'd like to see the Celtics go after him.
Daniels for Springer works on the checker, and the Celtics could throw in a protected FRP.

JB is finals MVP and Butler just destroy every team he was on and often injured
Pass
We are good. Just need another athletic wing on the bench

No I wouldn't want Butler either unless I could also get Adebayo.
I think what you meant is another SKILLED athletic wing. Jordan Walsh is on the bench already.

LOL, no thanks to Young. How about Brown to the Lakers for LeBron James? James has a no trade--but also a 15% trade kicker and he could retire with yet another ring, something which isn't happening in LA.
