Had a pair when I was a kid. The diamond on the bottom was supposed to help you jump higher.

My friend had a pair of LA Gear Catapults. Remember those?

I had a pair from a year or two after the originals came out and their positioning had changed. They were Karl Malone endorsed I think and by then were sold through Wal Mart, where my parents bought them. I was a pretty happily naive little kid and I remember going to my first basketball camp at 11 or so and some kids making fun of them and being confused.

Yeah who cares where you got them. As long as they are comfortable on your feet.

Gotta ask because i feel like we are all probably similar age. How many others here would count down until the next Eastbay issue, bring it into school in your backpack. Read in on the bus on the way to school. Bring it out between classes to read through with other kids. What a fun time to be alive.

It was a sneaker magazine separated into sections by sport. You could order shoes straight from the catalog but I never did. It was more of a reference guide for whats the latest and greatest out there for kids in the mid 90s

Pretty sure that's maybe somewhere in my time. I do remember East Bay, but I never got their catalog and always looked at it from others. I'm 50, so I've seen a fair amount come and go.

Re: The sneaker thread
Have several pairs of Jordan 11's, 12,'s, and 13's. I only buy the original colorways, and I rarely wear them.
The 11's are quite possibly the most uncomfortable shoes ever designed, and since they're patent leather you have to be careful how you walk in them, exacerbating their discomfort. But man do the Bred 11's look amazing.

You saying one of Jordans favorite pairs was one of the most uncomfortable ones?

I so disagree with his statement, in fact it's the opposite for me when it comes to Jordans & comfortability.

Everybody's feet are different and I love my comfort lows and stay loyal threes as they are pretty comfortable but my Bird and Magic alternate weapons blow them out of the water when it comes to who is more comfortable.

A friend of mine had some. I was mainly Reebok for hoops but did have some others in there.
