Back in 89, some said Danny Ferry is the next Larry Bird.

Red Auerbach would compare Michael Smith to Larry too.

I don't know, I just have really good vibes about Cooper Flagg... And having a local guy as franchise player is dynamic.

There's no doubt about Flagg's abilities.

The problem is it's not realistic.

We have 40 more games left and already have 13 losses. To at least equal last year's championship run record (64-18), we'd need to go 35-5 the rest of the way.

Right where we want to be, huh? No worries as 35-5 is very realistic.

Right now Cs are on pace for 56 wins.

60 wins is not possible at the rate they're going.

This will be more the 2023 season where the Cs ended up with 57 wins.

Once again the Celtics snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Jaylen Brown is a 32% three-point shooter. Why is he taking so many? Those shots should go to White and Pritchard.

No matter how you slice it the last 20 seconds of regulation was a laughable debacle on everything you should not do. The Hawks had to foul an not only did Jrue pass up a layup go up two scores he didn't hold the ball to get foul and threw the ball all the way to three point line for a turnover. Like WTF are you doing? Total clown behavior for a professional team.

And then he grabbed Trae when we were only up by 2! Absolutely unforgivable for any level player to do, never mind an NBA veteran. Dumb dumb dumb.

You are correct.

Guess the good news is it's better to lose because of dumbness than to lose because of lack of talent.

We lost 2 stupid games to the Hawks last year. Cs are just trying to recapture the magic and not skip any steps?

I feel like Pritchard is the only Celtic who actually gives a crap right now
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Lot’s to worry about. I guess one positive sign is we don’t have a guy like Marcus Smart throwing everyone under the bus and punching fire hydrants when he’s angry. Although maybe that sort of passion would be welcomed right now. Can’t say Jrue’s decision making (on court at least) is often much better at times.

Tatum seems a little mentally checked out. He’s tanked his race to MVP and despite having the strength and talent, just settles too much for garbage pull ups. I don’t think Tatum has the greatest balance or athleticism in the world, but DAMN how passive at the rim he is with his size and handle is a little insane.

Obviously not all on him, I think Mazzulla just throws **** at the wall to see what sticks at times but I’m hoping there’s a little more depth in the playoffs. I thought he was pretty good there last year, so we’ll see.

Seems much more is up than the Celtics just playing dead though. Tatum and Brown, even Horford earlier on were racking up and are still racking up a ton of minutes. Not really something you do if you’re just trying to coast by.

Just strange. Don’t know what it is, and don’t want to speculate but something seems wrong internally.

I think that some of the issues with JT is fatigue. It is easier to just shoot the 3 than get inside or shoot midrange after banging with the best defender on each team day in day out
He is also the most harassed player in the league (and I see a lot of games). Refs allow guarding him a lot more physical than any other player in the league which leads to a lot of frustration
He is also one of a handful of players that play on both sides of the court
And he didn't have enough down time in the summer
He is fatigued and frustrated
It will pass

Now, Joe can try a different substitution pattern to let him play less than a full quarter at times, allowing him to play full speed for shorter spans

No way Jrue is traded
He was the missing piece for the championship and still is
Current issues are with the bench (lack of quality wing), big man rotation (b2b, old, injuries) and a non flexible coach

Eh. This team is stupid at times. Their arguement, a 3 is better than a 2pt shot.

For what?

We need a big and we need another wing white and brown haven't been great. Jru is good but the team looks unfocused.

Just play different. Shooting funk right now.

Health assumed, all of our issues will be resolved if the 5 highest paid people on the team play like they're capable of doing, individually and as a group (esp in the clutch). Everything else is just noise or deflecting blame.

Yea it’s interesting since they got such a great start from PP, but after the starters all they need for the deep playoffs is Al/Hauser.

That is be going by the whole season's record thus far, but clearly if you judge us on the past 10-15 games, there's no pace that puts us at 57 wins.We have not been playing anywhere near the level we started the season playing at.

Yeah, if they continue with .500 ball, even 57 wins is unlikely.
