As for Ellis and Murray, they aren’t as impactful offensively as Johnson but they are much better defenders than Johnson (which is why I’d have him as our 5th-7th best player).
That’s not a knock on Johnson. He’s an excellent role player and I’m a big fan of his game, but the Kings have a lot of talent on this roster already and have 4 guys that can get 20+ points & 5+ assists on any given night.
Sure, they are 22-20 record wise (43 win pace) but they are 10th in Net Rating at +3.2. If you use that Net Rating and enter it into an “expected win calculator,” it would predict the Kings would win 50 games this season. I wouldn’t put too much stock into that record since at face value it may be misleading (especially considering how brutal the west is).
If CamJo had 12 games and a month of practice to get into the flow with you guys, I do not believe you will think that Monk nor the current version of Derozan at his advanced age would be a better option that the fresh 28 year old CamJo who has only played 300 some odd games so far in his career.
If the trade happens, please come back to me and give an honest opinion once he wears the Sac Town colors. I promise you, you will love this guy.
You never answered my question above. Look for the post that talks about Malik Beasley, Grayson Allen, and Norman Powell. I am curious to hear your response.
Trade Values as of today:
Cam Johnson > Norman Powell (because he is 31) > Malik Beasley > Grayson Allen
