Grit win, but Thibs subbing pattern continues to be at peak **** performance. Deuce isn't doing anything on D, or on O. No reason not to run Payne more.

The refs really wanted ATL to win. Glad we were able to overcome our home-court disadvantage and pull it out.

hawks are 19th rated defense - worse than us (15th)

they have a rep of being a good defense because they're athletic but they're not based on stats.

they're 13th based on last 15 games, so better of late but still

we have the 23rd ranked defense in past 15 games (eww)

2nd unit and Mikal start to the 3rd.

He picked up 3rd foul and was a big reason hawks went on a late run at half. Mikal is the key to beating the hawks. They have to put Trae on him and Mikal needs to eat that matchup alive.

Bridges only 27 minutes today. Not sure what that is about. If hes injured he definitely didn't show any signs, had an amazing all around game. Thibs went 9 deep in the first so I'll say that is improvement. Good solid win.

- Thibs shocked everyone by making early substitutions
- Bench came in and handled business
- KAT's passing was stellar. Great defense in the 4th, too
- Hart was ALL HEART
- Bridges was on fire
- Cam Payne and the 4-point play
- Refs tried (but failed) to hand the game to Atl
- Trey Young was sent home embarrassed.

Good win. I like how Mikal stepped up to the challenge of guarding Trae and made him work on the other end of the court. I was a little shocked to see he only played 27 minutes but if we can get Mikal to play at that level with less minutes i'm all for it.
