How was his defense?

I didn't watch the game, but he's a solid defender. Currently has a better DFG% at <6feet at the rim than iHart.

iHart's dfg <6feet at rim: 58%
richards dfg <6feeet at the rim: 57.4%.

Could've ran it back with Richards who's just as good as iHart but instead we have the worst rim protector in the league. Yay!

kat is the only fun part of this team. i have major issues with how this squad is performing but it's not bc of him lol

Not run it back with Richards, but should have gotten Richards after getting KAT. Instead of PHX, we should have gotten him. Would have filled a big hole.

Oh, and Mikal has a better DRTG than OG over that time period, imagine what he'd be like if he wasn't averaging 40mpg.

Interesting. The hot topic is KAT and Mikal. I think Josh Hart's comments were about OG...he's not buying into his defensive role. He hasn't been good in a minute.

I don't know if its the wear and tear. He's on pace to obliterate his minutes played (never plays this many games and minutes). I know he thinks more highly of himself offensively (even though his offensive game is pretty sus) he has zero handle and ability to create. He's basically a spot of 3 pt shooter (and his shot has gone to ****) and can exploit hard close outs and finish.

I really think Josh Hart's comments about people not buying in was directed at OG. He's the 2nd highest paid player on the team and currently isn't holding up is end.

That was my interpretation as well.

OG hasn't provided elite defense in recent weeks. He's well below the standard he set last year.

And he did once complain about his role in Toronto.

His level play has dipped after a very solid first month, and it hasn't lived up to his contract.

Brunson and KAT are carrying the team's offense but it was always expected of OG and Mikal to offset their frailties with elite defense. They've only provided it in spurts. It's disappointing but let's see, it's a long season.

I believe OG could get back to elite defense is his minutes were down to 30-35. Like Bridges today. Either use Precious more at the 4 or trade for a big wing who could spell OG and Mikal both, keep them under 40 minutes

I think Mitch will help too. OG is very instinctual - part of his gift is being able to gamble on defense, and it really helps when you know there’s a guy behind you who can cover if your gamble doesn’t pay off.

he's been getting beat off the dribble by Ron Holland and Dyson Daniels the last couple games. His effort level just isn't there.

He got a huge contract and even if he wants more of a role offensively everyone needs to sacrifice for a chip. We need OG to buy in his role. Some games he will get 20 when the shots go his way....some he will get 8 or 10....but he needs to be a difference maker defensively and he hasn't been that over the last month or so.

Yeah and it seems like he's trying to rebound more too. 10 two games ago 9 last night. Usually he's out defending the perimeter more. If he could play the 3 with Mitch at 5 and Kat 4, OG could really be further out playing his disruptive shutdown D

His effort is there, he's still the guy tasked with guarding Randle and Ant in the same game, Luka, Joker, Giannis, Barnes/RJ, Wemby in late situations.

It's the scheme, lack of a rim protector behind him, and heavy minutes that's making his D look less than all world lately

I’d love to root for Randle and the wolves, but trolls on this board have made it impossible  oh, and he’s just not a good player - or is it his point guard’s fault?

Looking up college bb today I found Stanford is now in the ACC. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ wins. I'm out but as a casual watcher. Nothing means anything anymore in college bb but the dollar. (Maybe it never did).

What's holding you back?

This is a great thread to celebrate Osama Bin Randle's Minnesota adventure

That’s not even a knock on Randle. Strangely this seemed to be their strategy from the beginning.

Which team can use such a ball-dominant scorer at the 4? The Lakers maybe, New Orleans, Detroit, Denver, Houston, Memphis, Atlanta?

The eternal Randle dilemma... not good enough to get a solid #2 Allstar option in return, but too good to dump for just roleplayers. A perpetual lose lose situation.

Leon has pulled off some good moves, but getting Towns for Randle has got to be at the top of the list.

Wolves issue is what it was. They have Naz Reid who they want to be the 4. They need to have a good b/u. The need to get value out of moving Randle.

Best thing for them? Move Naz and Jaden McDaniels. Get back a better role player and more diverse depth.

Naz is easy to move, positive value.
