They would lol but if we did that someone better be fired right away

Alvarado's on/off numbers look really really good. Starting to become a volume 3 point shooter as well.

His playoff series was disastrous last year though. I think I would trade Caleb and the Nuggets pick for him. I guess you can fire me.

NO...they can have Jett and a frp along with Cole, Gary, Caleb, whatever to match salary

I see TdS moving out as creating another hole in our lineup

Given the current injuries, this actually has the Magic trading a starter for a backup. Nope.

Lets trade for Brogdon.

An easy trade candidate we can get for a 2nd and matching contracts. Wont sacrifice our flexibility in later seasons

Or simply wait until he’s bought out which is the more likely scenario.

Hopefully we're at the top of his wishlist in that scenario

Brogdon can’t stay healthy.

Sexton and Simons are too small for what the front office wants.

Once or twice a month, Cole Anthony is exactly what we need and maybe even the most impactful player on the court...for the price of a late frp (or maybe even a few srps), we could get basically the same guy but in a version that can do it, reliably, once a week. A guy that can drop back in overall impact, but still contribute shooting every night (or at the very least, the un-ignorable threat). For comparison, Paolo & Franz need to do it every game, as our team is presently constructed. A trade on the "margins" (I think some have called it) is all we need to make significant gains. A second trade or signing or call up for frontcourt depth would be a cherry on top. Look at what 'scrub' Nick Richards did in his first game in PHX...he will fade back into relative obscurity, but he is able to be a solid, small-role contributor making very little and added for, effectively, a couple of srps.

Re: SRPs...I haven't actually looked but I'd guess we have more undrafted guys on our roster than second round draftees (Caleb comes to mind). This is probably true throughout the league. I don't understand why anyone would be shy about spraying late picks and srps all over some tankers to get actual contributors. Before you tell me about Draymond Green, tell me about the literally hundreds (if not thousands) of washouts for every Draymond.

Would you guys entertain something like this?

Cole Anthony
Gary Harris
X3 SRP

for

Bruce Brown

He might be a buyout candidate, but I think he fits well here.

He is a 22m expiring right? Would he resign with us or we after the salary cap?

I think it just provides flexibility overall, he could fill in as a Gary Harris replacement longterm or S&T candidate/cap savings this summer while also providing much needed help in the backcourt now.

Kinda a low risk/medium to high reward if he can provide a spark off the bench immediately.

I would say it’s been more frequent lately. Kind of like Sexton and Simons being starters on bad teams. Your minutes are guaranteed.

Do we really need him for a half season rental? ? He is a UFA after this season... no need to trade for him unless win now mode

I would do it if the alternative is don't do anything...Brogdon is better and same trade situation. Neither team will want to take back Cole's salary - unless they believe the srps are something.

Brown is an interesting story...he's really not that good and never was anywhere near as good as he was paid. That short-term overpay was intentional for matching salary in a trade for Siakim. He's better than what we got but not better than what else we could get. Not sure he really plugs any of our gaping holes...lifetime .336 from 3 and he hasn't hit that in a few years...kind of a very lucky Gary Harris, who happened to be in the right place at the right time. Like Gary Harris and Forrest Gump had a kid

Nah, Mann's contract is worse. Mann is like a healthier Gary Harris, but on a 3/47 contract. I would consider trading Wendell for him in the offseason if we draft or acquire a rotation big. Bad contract for bad contract change of scenery trade.

Cole more valuable than both simply because he only has 1 year left at 13 mil.

Mann has been played all over the place for the Clips. But basically, he's what AB should/could be. Taller athletic guard/wing hybrid who can take the ball up, initiate some, shoot the 3 (lowish vol), cut/drive to the basket, defend well.

Not an Iso guy really, but has floor vision, handle (RH dominant), speed and a jumpshot.
