No, because Bailey's a s**t passer/creator for others. Giannis has always been good in that area. So the comparison is DOA & this deficiency should be something that merits skepticism about being a star in the NBA, let alone superstar. Few of them can't just pass out of the double team when they draw it.

As others have said, you can't evaluate a player by just watching a scouting video, let alone highlight.

I would say his speed is very good, hops better than average. Strength and agility not so much.

It's funny, I feel like I expressed the earliest skepticism on the board, but just as a lot of people have started to move him down I've been moving him up! I think his athleticism has looked better through the season - it is pretty dramatic, actually - he is starting to turn the corner on drives, there is still some of the junk midrange shots, but less so...I really like him.

I actually don't know that he'll finish that far behind Harper for me, and I definitely have him over Kasparas/Johnson and it was not clear that would be the case a few weeks ago (I had Johnson over him ... but I do have them in the same tier). I like him a lot, and I actually really like the Cam Johnson comparison as a low end outcome. What has really won me over - which EvanZ was the first to really remark on - was his motor and anticipation defensively, he is very disruptive. I would love the passing to improve, that's really my biggest gripe atm.

Bailey has been looking like Rutgers best player as of late. He might be back in the running for that #2 spot.

Sucks it was on peacock. Couldn't watch the game but Harper has been doubled a lot since he went off against Alabama.

Curious to see the highlights for Ace. I wonder if he was getting to the basket or was just money with the jumper.

From the highlights it looks like a mixture of both.

If this kid could develop a consistent handle he would be so dangerous. Right now he reminds me of Rashard Lewis. He can get his shot, but it always looks contested because his lack of handle.

he never left tbh. It's been a two horse race for #2 since day 1. Might just come down to team needs on draft night with both guys deserving of the spot.

I think he's just saying that people were using BPM as a hard evaluation cutoff, but seem to not understand how it can change very quickly.

If he puts up a good game or two, his team wins and Harper doesn't cannibalize the distribution of positive value, he can raise his BPM to an acceptable level quickly. He does put up raw numbers. A few efficient games will stack.

1) that's a big "if".. we'll see what happens..

2) The slight jump in his BPM is mostly due to the big 39 point game he had vs Indiana which is an outlier compared to the rest of the games he's played this season.

and he's already over 5 BPM. didn't take long.

Over 6 after playing one more game.

How big was that bolded 'IF'?

Does he.get to 8+ BPM by the end of the season?

At this point; Ace's draft profile is pretty clear. His latest games has just highlighted and accentuated his strengths and weaknesses. Super talented tough-bad shot taker with formerly terrible, now middling advanced stat.

His draft position is gonna get determined by NBA corporate 'spies' investigating his personal life, college life, family life, behavior, habits, work ethic, and interview. This will determine if he goes above Jaku/Tre/VJ/Maluch/Traore or below.

My intuition is that he is a top 5 lock right now, rising since my last eval given his demonstration of his exceptional ability to take and make really bad shots.

He's moved back into the top 3 for me. This 2-week resurgence he's been on has either solidified those who were already high on him or put him back in the conversation for a top 5 pick. All his advanced stats are on the rise, the flashes are obvious and plenty.

Would still like to see that FT% come up close to 70%. 60% is worrisome.

No he looks elite. Shades of Fresno State Paul George.

Funny, came here to say just this, heavy shades of Sonics’ Rashard Lewis mixed with young Paul George, a sprinkle of KD thrown in for good measure.

Harper has also been sick and injured since the Alabama game, so several contextual things.

He's in that #2 spot right now. The fact that he's a bucket with a raw handle is quite scary. He's gonna be Tmac/KD type player if he can clean up those handles sheesh!
