V Mobley
N JJJ

I imagine Ant wins this, but the young player I feel best about building around, with what he’s shown this year, is Evan Mobley. I have Ant at 8, but I’m worried about team-building around a guy so unabashedly shot-hungry. Thst said, he seems to have the league behind him as a marketing poster boy, and that IS trade value whether I want it to be or not.

Jackson Jr. has a nice contract and is a great defensive anchor with other skills. Clearly I have some pro-defense bias in my preferences. Also considered Franz and Hali.

O don’t have a really strong feeling here but probably Paulo. Highest ceiling and still on Rookie deal.
Nominate Derrick White. That a really nice contract for a player of his caliber.

I voted Ant because he is a pretty complete player. His statements and behaviors are concerning. The NBA has had superstars like him ie KG, AI, who are just very vocal and inappropriate. I don't like his statements about double teams, how he is always ready to throw guys under the bus. That said, you take baby Bryant and build around it.

Gotta think of both ends of the court to some extent, contract obviously. Your guy Mobley isn't bad because he already inked his extension. The guys with like 2 years left are hard for me because -- in the game you assume max extension -- in life the player has to agree to extend with YOUR team. That's where someone like Jaylin Williams falls short for me -- not on an extension, could refuse to sign with me.

I like your nom JJJ, he just had an amazing game vs the Wolves. I don't know how people elevate Embiid and Hali above someone like KAT in terms of value. Embiid specifically to me could be an albatross soon.
