The Soriano leadoff question has been talked about all year. Most people do not like him there, becuase of his power, strikeouts, and getting on base.

But Soriano has always stated he feels most comfortable leading off. Unless we get an elite leadoff guy, I don't see him moving. Of course, Roberts would be such a guy, but I really doubt a trade is pulled off.

I agree. But I honestly think the Cubs still need one more bat in their lineup. Either at SS or at 2B. Pie has to be allowed to play everyday in CF, and I think Soto will be very solid behind the plate. And Brian Roberts is the name being thrown around. The last player I want the Cubs to trade for is Tejada. He makes too much money, his play is declining, and he can't play a good SS anymore.

dont worry, he will soon be property of the stros.

btw, would this be funny if the we get tejada, you guys get roberts and the reds get bedard? lmao

I would assume we offered about 1-2 million more per season than San Diego offered.

One of Fukudome's biggest boosters is Cubs broadcaster Ron Santo, who now has the envious task of trying to pronounce his name without incurring any fines from the FCC.

"I talked to Pat Hughes about it and told him that's going to be a tough one," Santo said last weekend from his home in Scottsdale, Ariz. "He said, 'Fukudome.' I said, 'Easy for you to say.'

I translated Fukudome's latest blog entry on his website. It didn't come out so good but you guys get the gist:
Today. It determined that you challenge to the American measure league. Declaring FA, 1 month, the extent which dies you were troubled. You consulted the family and the person the around. As for end you decided by your, but it may be defeated there was also a thing which becomes in the feeling which everyday everyday changes. The decision, where the feeling that ' you would like to try trying your own power lastly ', in day becomes large in day and measure challenge was done. Going in feeling, and the other side that it is not excuse in everyone of the fan, it is the feeling that we would like you to support new challenge. It has first measure challenge from the growing pulling out of ドラゴンズ in order not to make present 9 years wasteful, it would like to keep persevering in pride and. Support we ask may even from now on.

Good. Now they can trade Pie for Joe Blanton, junk for Shawn Green, and call it a day.

We need to credit Hendry on this one. He's obviously working within a budget because of the impending sale, but the Jones and Ohman deals both cleared enough to salary so that we could beat other offers.
