Someone else had to tell you that he was getting to the line more frequently, so you missed that. The variety of shots he is taking is also starting to resemble some of Paolo’s spots, like the back down baseline pull up, the FT line hesi and rip through or turnaround jumper.

This isn’t to say AB is Paolo as a scorer which should be obvious. But the spots and manner in which he’s starting to get it done shares resemblance to the big man. AB doesn’t have the speed to be a twitchy PG, but he has the size to play bully ball like Paolo.

I agree that he's tall and not really fast

Cool… jump in the game thread tonight whilst the game is playing and give us your live analysis on his game. I’m interested to hear your appraisal.

Nah, answer the question. You’ve got strong opinions on AB, I’m curious how much of it is informed by actually watching him play.

I pay $20 per month to that s**tstain that took over Bally (FanDuel?) ONLY to watch games. So, yes...now tell me what I'm missing in AB's overwhelming offensive skillset.

You’re awfully quiet tonight. You must be busy watching the game and evaluating AB…

I don’t do the in-game 2-screen thing…turned it off at halftime before it got even uglier…looks like I wasn’t wrong

When Davion Mitchell is the best 2 way PG on the floor…I watched the Magic scoreboard get stuck at 48 for a few minutes and wondered what it’d be like to be able to outscore a team that wants to lose. Paolo putting it on his shoulders.

AB with a decent scoring line, but didn’t look to impactful…at least in the first half…asst/turnovers miserable-I saw him get stuck under the rim and make a bad turnover…he did take it strong and almost finish an and-1 over Poeltl…very good quick reaction when Poeltl lunged towards him (not realizing he wouldn’t pull up  )

Tell me all of the beautiful things you saw that I missed

Btw, scrub Anfernee Simons 6-12 from 3…only 3 assists, but only turnover …looks like winning basketball to me

AB started strong in the first half. The team only made runs when he was on the court, including the 20 point lead they built early on. He was in double digits by the end of the 1st quarter. AB was good in the first half, not sure why you were underwhelmed?

He has hit a wall this 2nd half and looks to be pretty much shut down by Toronto’s defense. Keeps getting blocked and has no answer for it. Has no help either (WCJ and TDS missing bunnies, Houstan missing everything, Queen getting stuffed).

Sorry I didn’t see anything significantly impactful in the first half…I watched a few mins of the 3rd but it was ugly. TOR did seem to swarm defensively…maybe that was the plan to beat up on the short handed team. WCJ crushing on the offensive glass but not finishing. Lots of sloppy arcing passes. Just ugly.

But, bright side…eyriq will point out that AB was 50% from 3…just like Simons :D

haha... and not that i have anything against simons... but just to show that cherry picking doesn't help.... He scored 0 points on 0/9 shooting.... 0/5 from 3 ... and no free throws.... in 30 min against the LA Clipper a couple nights ago. lol... JS

Yeah, he’s flawed…I always admit or even point to that…if he was a great defender, he’d be a perennial All-Star. If he went 6-12 from 3 every night, he wouldn’t be gettable or affordable…that’s why all the microscopic dissection of his flaws are so ridiculous.

That’s also why I feel like, in 2 years, we could re-up him for considerably less.

He’s far from perfect, but nearly perfect for us….with our defense and Simons sitting on the bench reading a comic book, waiting for the tap on his shoulder…we’d never be out of a game.

Don't get me wrong.... I wouldn't mind getting him.... just at the right price.... and sadly he doesn't move the needle enough for me to move one of our young players.... yet.

I'm definitely opening up to the idea of trading him

For a team with Paolo & Franz solidified as our top 2, we need players who can make jump shots at volume

AB doesnt look like he has it, not yet, and maybe never. And yeah he's young, but are we gonna wait 5 years for him to add something like that to his game considering how far behind he is in it? Especially when Paolo & Franz both look ready for deep runs in the playoffs right now.

I'm fine with keeping him as a bench PG and see if he can have a more cerebral PG game, but if the right trade for a great PG who fits alot better comes along, I'll add him in that trade

Positive take...entering 4th quarter vs POR and AB is the second leading scorer among starters and has twice as many assists than turnovers. Awesome!

AB did fine tonight. But he still needs to grow his confidence and be more assertive with the ball especially if it is his turn to attack. Be nasty and mean. He hasn't shown that yet.

I am a fan of AB. But I also think it might be Jalen Suggs' time to return.
