Simple - Heat/Suns

Post#1 » by mlloyd10 » Wed Jan 22, 2025 3:27 pm

I dont see why the Suns and Heat just cant work out a deal

Suns get: Butler/love/Burks
Heat get: Beal/Dunn/Ighodaro

Heat get Dunn and Ighodaro for taking on Beal

Because the Heat have absolutely no interest in taking Beal, and even value wise, this comes up significantly short - like 3 first round picks short. Dunn has some value not it's not enough to take on Beal or to turn him into Butler.

Also, it's illegal. The Suns are over the second apron and can't aggregate.

The Heat would love Dunn but not for that contract. The Suns would love Butler but not for that price.

Suns are getting away with murder in this trade.

Maybe. I would hate that deal but I understand the Suns irrationally think they’re a Jimmy Butler away.

You have to get past the fact that Butler doesn't have the value you think he does...Like C'mon man

Only way i see the Heat not taking on Beal is if they give up some value like Ware.

Heat are in a no win situation. Need to come to facts with that.

I don't think he's got that much value. I just happen to know he has significantly more than Bradley Beal, especially considering we don't want Bradley Beal! It would take Dunn and three first round picks for us to even consider acquiring him and even then, I wouldn't want to do it.

Because Phoenix has to aggregate here, since Beal can’t bring back Butler and Love. And Dunn can’t bring back Love. Etc. Teams run into hard cap/apron issues.

I support the wishcasting of keeping the Bucks out of it, but remember Beal gets a say here. And we have reporting he would waive the NTC for the Bucks, we haven't heard this regarding Miami. Maybe he would.

But then Miami has to want him(they don't or they would have hashed out value already and Butler would already be a Sun) and you have to give them incentive for giving up a better player and taking on an additional $50M year.

There may not actually be a price, but its got to be higher than Dunn for them to reconsider.

I’ve found them to be consistently incorrect. At least with what people share here. They definitely seem to have issues with the new apron rules.

Correct, and when you consider the recent move made by the Suns, which definitely appears to be about Butler, and that Miami likely could have had that 2031 first (which was just turned into 3 firsts) had they been willing to take Beal, it's reasonable to assume that Dunn wouldn't fix the problem.

I'm not saying that Butler is intensely valuable, I'm saying that, in order to get us to take something we definitely do not want, it would cost more than this.

I think, if you broke it up into separate trades, that portion could work.

Edit: nevermind. It couldn't
Jovic makes about the same as Dunn but that defeats the purpose as Jovic has value, too. Larsson makes about the same as Ighodaro, but that's not really an incentive, either.
