For desperate Warriors... It's Nurk or Nothin'!
Simple trade
Warriors trade GPIII, Kyle Anderson, most desirable SRP to the Suns for Nurkic
Rationale for GS:
Kerr just went on a verbal rampage about needing players that can provide spacing. Nurk is a post scorer, but also can launch 3's effectively. Putting him next to Green or TJD means there is some balance there of defense/shooting. Kyle Anderson has 3 years on his contract, so that's a little hard to move.
Rationale for PHX:
Nurk doesn't fit. The whole team wants the ball on offense, so they need defense and they already made a move with that in mind. Anderson is a good role player who should fit nicely off the bench with what they are trying to do. GPIII is a good defender (He is a Gary Payton after all) and can be a situational weapon. Also could be used in a trade as an expiring contract (now they have their FRP and the Warriors best available SRP).

As shaky as the Warriors currently are, I tend to feel that proposed deals would just make them worse. This deal certainly does.

Are they not the obvious destination for Jonas Valančiūnas?
Gary Payton II, 2 or 3 seconds for him.
Warriors get a big on a reasonable contract, Wizards get the second round picks they signed Jonas for.

In a vacuum how do you value Anderson and Nurk (with contracts)
Like if both teams had all their FRP and SRP, and were trying to dump players on a team with TPE. What's the cost for each?

Rationale was I just listened to audio today of Kerr complaining that they need a big that can shoot.
Otherwise, there are a handful of deals that make a ton of sense for them (including Val)

If the Warriors pick up either Nurk or Val they are done.
They don’t have the horses anymore to make a big lunking Center be effective. That time has passed.
They need young long athletic guys that can shoot consistently and let Steph and Draymond create for them to do so.
And then they are still short because the difference was Klay as the leagues best two way threat on the wing and they just don’t have anything like that now.
Play in or first round exit at absolutely best. They should have blown it up and reset immediately after their last chip and they’d be coming up again with Steph and younger guys.

Among stretch bigs the Warriors would pursue at deadline, Nurk is near the bottom of the list imo

+1 for the title but I don't really see Nurk as a fit

Vucevic is a better fit if they want a C upgrade.

Agree completely.
He’s far more mobile and fits the mold because he also allows Draymond to free wheel on defense and create offensively from the elbow or perimeter.

Ultimately they need to suck it up and move Kuminga and Moody if they still want to be “the in now” at all. Those guys are really going to cripple them if they keep hedging and holding on and hoping. Neither is ever going to be a star.

Vucevic and Draymond actually fit together pretty well up front. He’s never played with a real PF in Chicago so his defense looks worse than it really is.

I think your assessment of Nurk is a bit off here. Nurk is embarrassingly bad finishing around the rim for a guy his size and opposing defenses will typically leave him wide open on three point attempts. He has the reputation as being a good passer, but he's really too 'creative' and risky for someone his skillset - imagine Jokic pass attempts without Jokic's passing ability.
Nurk is still a good screener and a big body who can box out and rebound, but he has massively declined in other parts of his game.

IMO Anderson has more on-court value at this point than Nurk.
Most teams taking in a salary dump are only paying for the contract and don't care for on-court ability at all.

Have we forgotten that Draymond and Nurkic have a very negative history and would be awful as teammates? The Warriors would never bring in Nurkic with Draymond still on the team, that's inviting conflict.

GSW....Olynyk comes cheaper than Vuc!
Last night: 12-3-3-1-4....yes 4 blocks! Was 2-2 from 3. Oh, and +39 in just 22 minutes.
Last 10 games only 2 times has he lost his minutes.

How much cheaper? My guess is that will be the question as deadline nears.

Bulls want a first. Unclear if they’ll get one at this point. If it was on the table, I imagine Vuc would be gone already

Agreed. But the middle ground could be multiple 2nds. Raps would likely trade KO for 1 2nd+filler
And KO isn't a rental so GSW would have him next year too...or re-coup the 2nd if they wanted ti move him in the summer or next year.
And of course KO is much cheaper
