SG/SF: Bruce Brown / Jaime
SF/PF: Jovic / Duncan / Highsmith
PF/C: Bam / Ware / Jovic

With Larsson and K Johnson developing between the seams… trying to outplay and take minutes from older “vet” players.

Small ball is dead. Ware is our new starter at the 5 and Bam is now a 4

That’s how I see it too. Those 2 would start together with Jovic the first sub in anywhere from the 3 to 5 spot. Go big and stay big. Then, we stagger those 3 throughout the game, always keeping 2 of those 3 in.

Luka would obviously be the golden goose in this scenario out of the 3 PGs

Fox is the most realistic.

Ice Trae would be great as well.

I would be fine with any one of them.

Correct. Why we keep trying to force our young SF's into being PG's? Been seeing this with Jaime as well. These guys will never be on the PG level of a Young or Fox.
Young and Fox are elite players in general. I get you guys want an elite pick n roll point.

Middleton at this point is giving me Danny Granger in 2015 vibes. But he'll probably be serviceable and will give us needed length at sf, while expiring before the start of the 26' free agency, so I'm all for it.

He's also known to torment the Celtics, which is another +

I ask again if he does in fact become that, is it going to be worth paying Bam 50+ million to try to fit into the 4 spot, or are you better off exchanging him for another max tier player in a different role?

These are the hard questions that will come to the table when talking about building a post 2026 championship contender, is Bam making 50+ million approaching age 30 worth it if you have a true 5 who is capable of playing at an all star level still on his rookie deal when that team is formed? Might be better getting a different fit than trying to shove a round peg through a square hole. Need to see Bam and Ware start 20-30 games before this can really be answered. That is what I am watching the rest of this year.

Hopefully Mia has learned something from the ‘2 timeline’ experiment over these last several years.

Bam is in his prime and the team isn’t ready to compete.

Should trade him in the offseason and reload their stock of picks n assets while developing Ware and figuring out what the long term vision ought to look like.

We’re getting Fox this summer and filling out the roster to contend, we’re not rebuilding, not even a soft rebuild. We’re jumping right back into it

Feels like, Dame, Mitchell, Beal, etc etc etc all over again.

Fox aint coming. Mia will be outbid.

Fox feels like the most realistic shot we have and will have at it… cap and assets are finally both on our side. Those others, we always had something working against us… of course though Fox has to be a willing partner.

We haven’t had a good PG in so long we’re starting to undervalue the need and importance of them

Man having Ware as our new starting 5 just opens up so much more lineup possibilities for us now:

I would love to see us get even bigger and experiment with some more point Jovic lineups

Jovic
Herro
Duncan
Bam
Ware

Jovic
Herro
JJJ
Bam
Ware

Jovic
Herro
Larson
Bam
Ware

Jovic
Herro
KJ
Bam
Ware

Jovic
Herro
Highsmith
Bam
Ware

So many options. What if we already have a stop gap PG in Jovic? Worst case scenario we aren’t able to get a Lonzo Ball or a Brogdon, while we wait for Dru Smith to heal up next year, interested to see how Jovic does with more ball handling duties

I for one would love to see lineups of

Jovic
Herro
Highsmith
Bam
Ware

With Bam and Highsmith hounding the best perimeter players of the opposition, and Ware protecting the paint (and Herro and Jovic being serviceable defensively), this lineup can be a defensiveness powerhouse while being great offensively as well.

We don't have to start this line-up, but at least experiment with it throughout the game for 3-4 minute spurts.

Jovic isn't a 'real' PG in the same sense that Dragic wasn't actually a 'real' PG. However, Goran could play make and he had the ability to throw incredible lobs. Jovic is very similar in that regard, and he may actually be the best passer on our team. At 6'10" tall, he is able to see (and run) the floor really well.

I'm not saying we should push Jovic to be our PG, but I would love to see him, Bam, and Ware on the floor together at the same time, alongside Tyler Herro.

I thought I read someone on here posted if the Heat are in lottery for 2025 draft the pick guys to OKC?

But, it looks like the 2025 pick is top 14 protected and the 2026 is unprotected. So basically...

2025 pick: If Heat miss playoffs and in lottery, Heat get the pick. If Heat make playoffs then OKC gets the pick.
2026: If Heat get their 2025 1st round pick the 2026 pick goes to Thunder regardless of if it is in the lottery or not. If Heat's 2025 1st round pick goes to Thunder then Heat will keep their pick regardless of whether lottery or not.

Is this correct?

If we make playoffs pick goes to OKC. If we don’t pick converts to OKC unprotected 2026 then forwards hornets 2027 to 2028 unprotected.

Probably a hot take but I don't know how or where NIko fits on this team - he is not a proper 4 or 5 on this team, especially now with the emergence and prioritization of Ware's development. Niko's game reminds me of Hedo a lot and perhaps they should stick him as the point forward at the 3 off the bench once the Butler trade goes down.

If Niko was 6'7", no one here would be batting an eye and wondering where he fits on the team.

But because he's 6'10" (without shoes), people are a bit confused on his exact position for some reason.

I think you said it best, he's a point forward type. To me, his best fit is alongside Bam, Ware, and Tyler Herro. He can shoot. He can pass. He can dribble. He's not a negative defender. He fits right in with the core and can play the 1, 2, 3, or 4 on the offensive end.
